Rolling Stones 50th Anniversary - Update AUS/NZ '14

It's not a "new" release, but April 2nd they're putting out a new version of "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out" 40th Anniversary Edition. I think the box set is well worth the $40-$45 you can get it for, but they're releasing a jewel case version of it for $20. Has all the same material, 3 CD's and 1 DVD. Though I'm guessing it doesn't come with the book, though some of it may appear in the booklet, or the mini poster replica.
If you don't have the 40th Anniversary version already, this is worth getting. The version of "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" on the second disc is well worth the $20 alone. The original album on the first disc is well worth that as well.

Also, there's finally a release date for "Crossfire Hurricane" in North America. It's coming out May 21st, and has some extras that aren't on the other international versions. I guess that's the reward for the long wait.
Bonus Features:
-Cinema trailer for Crossfire Hurricane / Interview with director Brett Morgen/Additional bonus performances
-NME Poll Winners Concert 1964: (featuring Not Fade Away , I Just Wanna Make Love To You, I'm All Right)
-NME Poll Winners Concert 1965: (featuring Pain In My Heart, The Last Time)
-Live In Germany 1965: (featuring (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, I'm All Right)
-The Arthur Haynes Show 1964: (featuring I Wanna Be Your Man, You Better Move On)
Also, for Record Store Day the Stones will be re-releasing the "Five By Five" EP."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -
Some big announcement, probably a tour announcement, coming Wednesday. The only hint is a post on their website about an announcement coming, with this picture of a Stones sign at a Chicago L station...
If it is a tour announcement, I'm guessing the "You Get What You Need" sign in Chicago points to show(s) in Chicago."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

I know this will never happen ... But it sure would be funny if they played to half empty stadiums
. Starting tickets at 160 + ticketmaster fees is ridiculous.

Yah! the tix are pretty steep,But for the later remark,They'll be sold out in no time flat.
It's more than likely their last mission. They're the Rolling Freak'in Stones.0 -

There are people around here who paid twice that much for a copy of the Limited Edition PJ20 or white vinyl Backspacer. I'd go see The Stones for $160 probably, I don't know. They aren't coming here though, so I won't find out if I'd be willing to pay it."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

tempting, but for that price, maybe if I got tickets as a birthday present or something like that. I just don't see myself getting too excited about it.0 -
The December show in Newark was one of the best Stones shows I've seen (been to about 35 shows over the years). It sure cost me much more than the Chicago show will.....I'll be there! There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.0

Anyone here a Citi Card holder?
My wife and I are suddenly trying to figure out if we can make the trip for the Chicago show, but we are definitely NOT paying $600/ticket. We'd do $160/ticket though (which I worry would be snapped up in a presale tomorrow).1998-06-30 Minneapolis

I'll have to think about that(with those prices). Might be better off saving my money for PJ's Fall Tour.0 -

I think Taylor is confirmed to be on the tour. Not sure about Wyman though. Does that sweeten the pot?
Just for this alone Taylor should be worshiped and able to charge $600 just to be in his presence...

At least start listening at 3 minutes in until the end, it's one of the best solos ever."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

IF I can get tickets and IF I can get work arranged and IF I can get a good flight into Chicago (that part will be easy), we plan on doing this.
No one's more excited than me for the PJ fall tour...but it's the Rolling Stones. If I'm betting who I'll have a chance to see again after 2013, my money's all on PJ.
This is coming from a guy who's never seen the Stones though. If you've seen them before, it might be a different story.1998-06-30 Minneapolis

If you've never seen them, and you're a fan, I'd invest in the experience. A Stones concert is really something else, and if you'd seen them before, you might be more tempted to pony up. Just look at voodoopug. People have been saying "this is the last tour" since the 70's, when I first saw them on the Bridges To Babylon tour people were saying that. So I really hate to say that, but as you pointed out, this really could be it. If I could get away, or they were coming a little closer, I'd go see them."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

That was my point. I'm definitely trying to do this because it's the Stones and I've never seen them. I AM trying to pony up, because of everything you said.1998-06-30 Minneapolis

The Stone have gone beyond greed ... IMO ... that haven't made decent music in what 30 or so years ... I saw Springsteen on his Wrecking Ball tour for around 35 + fees in the same seats the Stones are charging 167 for. I don't care if this is their last tour or not ... just greedy.I have certain rules I live by ... My First Rule ... I don't believe anything the government tells me ... George Carlin
