I'm so sorry for your loss. Oceans or Light Years both strike a chord with me on loss.

Big hug and lots of love to you.

Just remember . . . no matter how cold the winter, there's a springtime ahead. (i.e. time heals all wounds and you'll get through this). I am terribly sorry for your loss.

I'm thumbing my way back to heaven
I wish that i could hold you
    I wish that i had
    Thinking 'bout heaven

I listened to this song over and over last November when my wife's Dad passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. The strength I got from listening to PJ was amazing....

  • Thank you…..my Pearl Jam family for all your input on lyrics and support at this difficult time. I felt the need to mention his/our love for Pearl Jam at his memorial and at the beautiful military service at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
At a future concert, I hope to flash a smile or have a conversation of our love for PJ to each of you.

    Previous posts...
My husband passed away today(3/23/13). We have been together since the 1st day we met 2/14/87.
He more than tolerated my love for PJ.
I would very much appreciate any Pearl Jam lyrics to help get though this or to use in a service.
    Thank you for your consideration.

    UPDATE:
Thanks for all posts and pm’s. Pearl Jam was so much a part of our lives; I had to pay tribute to this fact in my husband’s passing by requesting any memorial contributions to Vitalogy Foundation. I truly think he would be pleased with this.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I, too, lost my love very recently and I missed your post. In these past few weeks, I have come to hear some PJ songs with new ears. The ones that struck me the most are "Light Years", "Long Road", Come Back", "Goodbye", "Last Kiss".

I hope you find some solace in these most painful times. This community has been amazing for me and I know that we will be here for you. :D Donation made, btw.

    Cheers and be well,
    Brian

    I dnt have the words......

    The Cure- Pictures of You

I've been looking so long at these pictures of you
That I almost believe that they're real
I've been living so long with my pictures of you
That I almost believe that the pictures are all I can feel

Remembering you standing quiet in the rain
As I ran to your heart to be near
And we kissed as the sky fell in, holding you close
How I always held close in your fear

Remembering you running soft through the night
You were bigger, brighter and whiter than snow
Screamed at the make believe, screamed at the sky
And you finally found all your courage to let it all go

Remembering you fallen into my arms
Crying for the death of your heart
You were stone white, so delicate lost in the cold
You were always so lost in the dark

Remembering you, how you used to be
Slow drowned you were angels, so much more than everything
Hold for the last time then slip away quietly
Open my eyes but I never see anything

If only I'd thought of the right words
I could have held on to your heart
If only I'd thought of the right words
I wouldn't be breaking apart all my pictures of you

Looking so long at these pictures of you
And never hold on to your heart
Looking so long for the words to be true
And always just breaking apart, my pictures of you

There was nothing in the world that I ever wanted more
Than to feel you deep in my heart
There was nothing in the world that I ever wanted more
Than to never feel the breaking apart, my pictures of you....
