I see this as a consequence of abuse of freedom of speech and capitalism.

    explain, also, I think the amount of gun owners that buy weapons specifically to protect against gov't oppression is much smaller than you think.

    That's True, but most of the people i know who have guns are also the same one's sounding the alarm right now about our government and the moves it's making.

    Their also the same ones who at some point in their lives we're in the military.

    Ex-Military trying to wake up the people to what the Military is doing :shock: We'll if that doesn't give ya the warm and fuzzy's i don't now what will.

    Well the Feds just bought 2 billion rounds for "target practice". You SHOULD trust them to look out for your best interests and personal safety.

    I don't know many if any who own for protection from the government. I'm sure some do though
    and some own just because they can.
    All I know really like guns, like to go shooting at the range, collect guns ... hunt.
    There is the extra perp of home protection but that is not the reason they have the gun or guns they do.
    Many were raised with guns in the home, are comfortable with them.

    I'll say though the responsible owner gun safety classes are on the rise and filling up quickly.
    They said on the news women are first time buyers and taking the classes.
