See you later Slim. You'll be missed but I bet you don't quit, since when has the package been any better. What do you expect a Sealed Benny or a backpack?
Like I said you won't quit, you've been here too long and you're pissed off
But if you do truly quit, maybe the nickelback fan club is available

I think I'll support the OP.

Before Analog the old international membership was 25/year. To keep the 7 inch you had to go analog which doubled the price. The first year you got the digital download and the im analog shirt, 2nd year the digital download and stickers.

The coupons are the lowest form (only good for mp3's.. still have to pay for flac upgrade). Doesn't work against a cd purchase (which is what I always buy) so the coupon is kind of meh. If they threw in one cd ever year, now that'd be cool :) The stickers/tshirt so far are meh.

I'm not going to leave the 10c because of it (as everyone thinks the OP should) but they basically doubled the price and threw in some fluff. I'd much rather seen a modest increase and kept it the way it was. All I want is the damn fan club single and tickets :)

    +1
  • If you want to save the environment just go digital.

I spent the 20 Bucks saved on seeing the Walkmen/ Father John Misty. It sure beat a post card and a 45 single of already released live songs.

Although I understand the OP's point I'm not ready for quitting. Instead I went digital last time to avoid such disappointment. I wasn't a fan of the t-shirt and I don't care much for the vinyl releases although the Falling Down 10" was a beautiful package. The Deep mag is an ok way to pass 10 minutes but at 41 years old I'm long past being interested in stickers, etc. I think the download is something that could have been included with a slightly raised membership price or just a money off coupon that could be used as a discount for anything in the store. 10c is rarely our first source of information regarding band news, not entirely their fault but I do think for a fanclub the Analog package is overpriced. I probably wouldn't be a member if it wasn't for the forums to be honest. I've gotten to know some amazing people many who are now friends. My witnesses to our wedding last year were people I made friends with on the GTF Euro 10 thread and most of the people I text or PM on social network are members here. My quality of life is better for knowing these people and I have PJ and 10c to thank for that. This place gets too serious sometimes and people take things too personally. Like I said, I get the OP's view and respect it so if leaving is the answer then so be it but just remember the friends you have probably made and consider digital as a final resort? Otherwise goodbye and have a healthy life. Keep on enjoying the music that brought you here in the first place.... ;)

I've just grown old I guess. Ten/Vs/Vitalogy were soundtracks for my teen years. PJ has gone downhill ever since Yield. I dig "Into The Wild" and still spin it @ home but other than that I rarely listen to any PJ.

I thought about going digital but then I'd still like to get the 7" (have all of them) and $25 for digital along with buying extra 7" + overseas S&H is pretty close that of $50...

But yeah this 2012 member package actually sealed the deal. It's ridiculously LAME  so only option is to quit. I have no desire to see the band unless they play in my hometown (played once EVER in my country - 1993), I can buy the annual 7" elsewhere and don't need the fan stuff (mags, stickers, whatever)...

I do think the cost of membership has gotten a little high. I'm still happy to pay $50 once a year, and I certainly don't do it for the membership package, but it's a bit much considering the whole seniority thing only makes it worth it when they actually tour. At this rate, I'll end up having spent an additional $150 by the time they come around again just for the CHANCE to buy tickets! Hell, when I first joined, membership only cost $5 a year! But whatever, I still like being a member regardless.
