  • It definitely will. They're sports fans. They play rock. They're running out of that combo. Yeah, Beyonce will be popular and get great reviews. But, so would Justin Bieber. The folks buying tickets to the Super Bowl are more Stones/Who/Paul fans than Beyonce. Thats what the media and tv watchers forget. Eventually, a bunch of us will be the ones in the C Suites that will want more than a Halftime pissbreak for our high priced tickets.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
  • I was just saying this to someone yesterday. I can see PJ playing the Suber Bowl. Can you imagine if they got the closest seats for us 10 clubbers. I'm personally hoping for Bon Jovi at next years in Jersey. My wife dragged me to one of their shows a few years ago and they were great.

  • I hope you're right. I hope it never happens.

With that being said, what might the setlist be? The usual SB setlist is 3 songs, I think, so maybe this...
    1) DTE
    2) Got Some
    3) Alive

Because the Super Bowl is the most mainstream, commercialized event in the world. It would be out of character for them, IMO.

Not to go thru this debate for the millionth time, but no it wouldn't. Target, Oracle, etc. And there's nothing wrong with it. They've grown up and matured.

And I don't give a crap where and how they perform. More chance for people to see them is a good thing.

If they lip synch, then yeah, they suck. But as long as they don't go all Beyonce milli vanilli on us, who cares where they perform?

  • Maybe, but I would say they are almost last on that list of like choices. Taylor Swift has a better chance, I mean TAYLOR SWIFT! I do not think it will ever happen.

The announcers using the "g word" (grun...) and the "f word" (flann...) would be too embarrassing. And this would brand our boys forever as corporate rock. Sorry sports fans, I hope it never happens.

Well, maybe if Ed yelled, "F*ck the pessimists. F*ck the pessimists!"

They have made a big deal about the fact Beyounce will not lip sync tonight , so I would be shocked if she does.

Of course PJ wouldn't lip sync, why would they ever?

While I don't like the choice I understand why they chose Beyounce to perform , the Super Bowl will already have the men and rock crowd, she brings in the women and people who don't care about football

Don't get me wrong I'd love for it to happen but I thought if it was going to happen it was going to be 2010 or 2011. I would love to see them playing in front of that huge of a tv audience. I want to hear peoples reaction that following Monday. But I also think of the Who and I recall them playing like 5 song snipets that were only like 2 minutes long. And I'm pretty sure part of the deal is that they would have to play their top radio songs. Honestly I think they would kill it and we'd have a few new members after the show. If I was a betting man I would go with 2015 and we'd be hearing Alive :D , Do the Evolution :D and Even Flow

Oh hell yeah, PJ would totally blow everyone's mind. And Mike will do the face-melting solos that Prince shoulda but didn't.
Pearl Jam should've played at the 12.12.12 concert, but instead the producers chose who they thought were "sure bets" -- until Ed opened his mouth and the crowd went crazy. They learned somethin' that day...

Springsteen's done it, The Stones have done it, The Who have done it....I can see PJ doing so in the future. And hey- it'll be an f'in awesome halftime show! Much better than Madonna, for one!
