Any possibility of PJ at Ottawa Bluesfest?

**disclaimer** I'm only going by dates and geography, NOTHING else. I have no inside track and I'm only just putting it out there.
Just that London, ON seems so random. And Bluesfest wraps up on the 14th and that last weekend is generally when the bigger bands play. Obviously it would be a Bluesfest announcement so PJ probably can't say...I'm just wondering as the timing would fit. Of course, a girl can dream.

Anyway, I guess there are lots of rumours about where they may play.

That would be amazing!
And that the ottawa show was very poorly attended (both in terms of ticket sales and the crowd energy)...
I wouldn't advise you to get your hopes up.
I agree the randomness of playing London puzzles me, but I assume its only to knock the dust off at a small venue, very close to the big show at Wrigley...
It would be amazing!!! *fingers crossed*

Oh god last year was brutal. I didn't go to one show.
As for Bluesfest, I went last year only for Iron Maiden/Alice Cooper. The rest of the festival seemed like more of a DJ festival than actual a live music fest (if I wanted that, I could have just stayed home and gone to a club).
London 2013 "The Dundas Hookers on Crack" Show
PJ show here in '11 was great...I even got one of Mike's picks even though I was more on Stone's side...
I missed Maiden as I was crazy sick. Let's hope for good things this year
First of all, it's a totally different kind of show, at a totally different kind of venue. The atmosphere at Bluesfest is great, and I think the crowd would be amazing if Pearl Jam played. Playing on a weeknight at a venue that everyone drives to is different than playing a huge outdoor festival.
Also, Matt Cameron played there with Soundgarden not too long ago, so I don't think it's out of the question.
I recently moved to Toronto from Ottawa, but I would still consider this a "home town show", and I'd jump at an opportunity to see it.
Fingers crossed!

Been to 18 shows
Ottawa 2005 was historic and a night that none of us will forget.
Ottawa 2011 was certainly different, and not necessarily in a bad way. Wishlist and those closely affiliated with it were publically recognized by the band, and seranaded.
Look at these photos I took from the 6th row out and tell me that the band wasn't on form:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/67550523@N ... 7801/show/
I thought the crowd was excellent, and I know Ottawa crowds pretty well. ...and as far as Eddie trying to "work" the crowd...100% BS.
Bluesfest will be a different vibe and PJ has been rumored for coming to Bluesfest for the last 5+ years. If you thought getting tickets for the Chicago/London shows were tough, Bluesfest will be a big challenge for those of us who are spoiled...

1) I'd love it if PJ came to Bluesfest - it is not too far from me.
2) I went to both Ottawa 2005, and 2011, and loved both, though I do still remember the epicness of 2005. Wash. Mankind.
3) I have never sat at a PJ show, but don't be too hard on people/crowds. Clearly people wanted to be there. They WENT to the show. People enjoy in different ways.
Anyway, if PJ plays Bluesfest, I'll be there.

That said, got shut out of London tix, so Pearl Jam playing on the 13th would be pretty sweet.

I have seen PJ and EV in Toronto and Montreal as well...would I ever go back to Ottawa (which BTW is closest to me) no way, rather drive the extra clicks and feel the energy, have good sound (Ottawa's sound system IMHO was poor) and leave the concert on a "PJ cloud" like I have at other venues!
As for Bluesfest, it could be interesting though, I saw Iron Maiden there last year, right up at the front mosh pit, energy was amazing, as were many other bands. However, again, Ottawa being a "government sleepy town"" I was floored when people left shows early to get on the bus, walk to cars etc to escape "rush of people to hurry and get home" I am not a youngster out there, but know what it is like to see REAL concerts (including PJ, EV, Metallica, Pink Floyd, Rush, etc.) and how much appreciation we USED to show great bands gracing our City as opposed to what what we are currently showing the bands which is borderline disgraceful.
For me, I personally LIKE staying behind with a crowd as those are the folks who are true fans and it almost becomes like an after party!
I guess all this to say, IF PJ were to stop in Ottawa, I would much rather they perform at Bluesfest than at Scotiabank Place, but the fans maybe should book the day off work for the next day and stop worrying about "rushes of crowds" so they can truly experience everything PJ would offer at the venue!
Just my 2 cents
Great pics. I wasn't too far behind that. Looking forward to the summer shows either way
And I agree, that some people enjoy shows in different ways. I mean yeah if you are yelling, texting, making out or giving a strip tease (I've seen it :fp: ) then just stay home, but if you want to stand still and take it all in, that's cool too. I was behind a guy in Missoula who was reading the news on his phone

I thought maybe that was just how Ottawa crowds were, but then I went to see Metallica there and the crowd was insane.
Thank you, I'm not the only one thinking that!!! I saw NIN in Montreal in 2005 and the Bell Centre was packed!! And then Ottawa in 08... the 200 and 300 level were empty!!! In Ottawa, to make sure the Scotia Bank Place will be full, you have to make sure to play a lot on those radio stations: Hot 89.9 for all the top 40 crap, Chez 106 for the Boomers, Y101 for the country music lovers and The Bear for your Nickelback fix. Eric Church... I heard the SBP is full for his show! Who is he? I have no clue... but I heard he plays country music, that is all!

It was discussed a bit in this thread after a Quebec City paper speculated that Pearl Jam might play there:

The festivals apparently share promoters; maybe they'll play both. Some posters mentioned the Sarnia Bayfest but it has been cancelled.
lineup announced today and unfortunately no pearl jam.
