For those that are saying the Lottery wasn't fair, what is?

Not trying to stir anything up, but I'm wondering if picking fans at random isn't fair in your opinion how should it have been?

Senority only?
1st come 1st served?

Again, not trying to stir the pot just curious to what people think the "right way" of doing things should be.

1st come first served - either old way or put tickets on Ticketmaster with a code which they have done before.

    SHOW COUNT: (170) 1990's=3, 2000's=53, 2010/20's=114, US=124, CAN=15, Europe=20 ,New Zealand=4, Australia=5
    Mexico=1, Colombia=1

    Personally I liked 1st come 1st served.

A normal system that relies on first come first serve for availability. Seats can be dealt after the fact based on seniority.

The system for the last couple tours would've been great had they actually had the servers for it. Any sort of ticketmaster type site's format would be ideal.

But that's not what we have for this. I'm disappointed, but it'll all work out in the end so I'm not too worried about it.

And to clarify, this beats having to risk work for a full day or inconveniencing others because of the constant system crashes. I was fortunate to get tickets before any crashes, but it still took 20-30 minutes each time, which was still very frustrating.

I was thinking about this today.
As I was thinking if I didn't win I wouldn't be upset. That if I wanted to go I'd find a way.

Then I thought about the Roskilde tragedy. How 9 people just like me who only wanted to see PJ because they loved them wouldn't get a single chance to ever go to another concert ever again.

I'm sorry for those who didn't get anything, but perhaps a small amount of perspective can be gained?

    Hail hail the lucky ones...

+1. I understand why people are upset and understand that this is a forum to show your displeasure. If not getting tickets to a concert is the worst thing that happens to me I would say I had a pretty good day!

Nothing wrong with being upset, but there is no one to really blame here. No system is ever gonna be perfect and I do think the 10C tries very hard.

Like you said above... This is a small blip in the tragedies list.

I like the old Old school method... ONE Pair per member, per Tour.
We can still use this little program they have set up to arrange First Choce, Second Choice... but, in the end... we each get only one pair of tickets from the Fan Club.
    ...
If you want to go to more shows... there's our friends, TicketMonster.
If you want to go to two Ten Club seting shows... pair up with another member and split your tickets.

  • I got shut out. I have no problems with the new system. If people continually get shut out for every show they try for, i might find a problem with it. But I don't think that's gonna happen.

You know, who's to say that won't be the case for the actual tour? One pair per tour. Let's keep in mind - this was just for two, very special shows. Demand clearly was higher because these aren't your run of the mill shows...

The above post is correct... I'd bet lots of 10c tickets got sent back to a broker during a few Canada shows.

It seems that specific shows of high demand are when some feel they deserve extra entitlement?

Specialty shows are the ones that senority should be given most credence to. For a full tour one pair per tour and maybe lottery system on top of that but for specialty shows I want to see it done completely by senority. If I get shut out becuase all tickets were taken by those who have more senority I am 100% ok with that. ANy other system for "specialy shows" is not a fair system in my eyes.

Randomness of the Lottery discards Seniority. Which I'm not a fan of.

I don't care about the fan that just discovered Pearl Jam last year. I care about the die hard fan, that's been a 10c member for decades.

Not true. Seniority did not determine whether you got a ticket before. It just determined your location after you got them.
