Where to stay for Concert?

Where is a good place to stay in Chicago that is not too expensive? Also, is it better to take public transportation or drive to Wrigley Field. I am not that familiar with Chicago. Thanks :D

    Public transit to Wrigley. Take the Red Line or Clark bus. Stay up in Evanston on the Purple Line (transfer to Red) for lowest prices or out near O'Hare (Blue Line to Red Line). Not many north side hotels, so downtown is the other option. More $$ to stay downtown, but try Priceline or Hotwire and most hotels downtown are close to Red Line so it's more convenient.

    When I went to lolla in 07, we just stayed at a hotel by the airport... Laquinta i think it was. The train runs from the airport and its not expensive to ride. They sold week passes and we just did that. I think it was like $25. I'm sure someone on the board has more details.

    I've been working off and on in Chicago for the last few years. Make sure you pay attention to where your staying, Chicago is one dangerous city these days. Stick to the airport or downtown and pony up for a taxi/train.

    A lot of fans are staying at the Hyatt downtown.

    sofitel in chicago is awesome. right by rush street and just a fantastic hotel in my opin. stayed here for august 09 shows and was perfection.
