Here it is, the intra-album grudge match, featuring No Code.

This week (and I should say, I'll forget to do this weekly, haha), its:

"In My Tree" vs. "Present Tense"

My vote is for "Present Tense" all the way. With its great epic buildup to a rocking finish, it's great live and on album.

So...which is your pick and why? Go!

In My Tree wins the challenge, but it was close. I'm still hoping for a Present Tense at Wrigley though...

    Present Tense is the better song but I have love for In My Tree, it's IMO one of the more unique PJ songs. The rhythm and harmonies stand out among most of their catalog.

    Ooooooh so close...but as with all things PJ this one is personal. No Code is, was and always will be my favourite PJ album, it was the soundtrack to my 20's, and on that album In My Tree is my favourite track...due mainly to the sublime jungleistic drumbeat. As I said, PJ is a personal thing for us all as it should be for the followers of a truely great band.

    Present Tense is truely epic track as well, but as far as the posts have gone so far I seem to be on my own. :fp:

    P.S. Good luck for tomorrows draw and I hope to see you all in Chicago...who knows...they maybe open with Present Tense and close with In My Tree...once again, Good luck...

    My favorite album, from anyone....ever. Boy is this one tough...

    In a very close margin, I have to go with In My Tree. I'm a much better fan of it live too and as mentioned before, the rocking finish at the end with Mike. Jack Irons' drumming on this on the album is simply fantastic. But damn, Present Tense is a great song - studio and live with excellent lyrics.

    But the nod goes to In My Tree.
