MSG camera policy
i read on the MSG website that they only allow disposable or 35MM cameras in MSG and for some events they dont allow any cameras at all, but the PJ website says that small hand held cameras are permitted. anyone have experience bringing cameras into MSG or will the PJ policy supersede the MSG policy? thanks in advance.

go with the venue policy
the goons at the door dont care about band policies, in most cases
what are you trying to bring in?
perhaps they dont want any video-ready devices.0 -
I have been to so many shows at MSG its ridiculous. Since I saw Roger Waters do Dark Side in 2006 I think (the first time he came around with the show) I have used my sony digital camera to video tape every single show at the place. I have not once been told to put my camera down or stop recording no matter the policy of who is on stage. If you have a small camera just sneak it in somehow because they do check on the way in sometimes and then once you are past security you should be home free. Enjoy!0

During Rangers Games I video tape on my digi cam all the time.2008 - MSG 6/24-6/25
2010 - Newark 5/18 MSG 5/21
2011 - PJ20 9/3-9/4
2012 - MIA Festival 9/2
2013 - Wrigley Field 7/19 Brooklyn 10/18-10/19 Philly 10/22
2015 - Colbert show - 9/23 Global Citizens Festival 9/26
2016 - Philly 4/28-4/29 MSG 5/1-5/20 -
At the MSG 2003 show I had a guard standing in front of me for most of the time so finally I just asked him If I was allowed to take pictures...he said no problem, let me know if I'm in the way. I figure as long as you don't act like an asshole you'll be left alone. Unless PJ stars playing by Springsteen or Bob Dylan rules we're fine.0

thanks for the responses. it's just a small digital camera, not looking to videotape anything, but i'd like to get some nice pics from my 10C seats on night one.Randall's Island 9/29/96, Continental Arena 9/8/98, MSG 9/10/98, Jones Beach 8/23/00, 8/24/00, 8/25/00, Nassau Coliseum 4/30/03, MSG 7/8/03, 7/9/03, Continental Arena 6/1/06, 6/3/06, MSG 6/24/08, 6/25/08, Spectrum 10/30/09, 10/31/09, MSG 5/20/10, 5/21/10, PJ20 9/3/11, 9/4/11, Charlottesville 10/29/13, Charlotte 10/30/13, Global Citizen 9/26/15, Raleigh 4/20/16 :( Baltimore 3/28/20 :( Austin 9/18/23, 9/19/23, Forum 5/21/24, Baltimore 9/12/24, Fenway 9/17/24, Nashville 5/6/25, 5/8/250

I was at a concert a few weeks ago, and I couldn't see the stage for everyone holding up their digital cameras or cell phone cameras. Really ruined the concert for me...and I'm 6'5''. Worrying about taking pictures takes away from the concert experience...leave em at home, and you'll have a better time."It's all happening"0

Yeah, thats a great point.
Theres nothing worse than hearing a real emotional part of a song, and seeing 50 cellphones cameras trying to document it.
Most of the time, the pics turn out blurry anyway.Turn this anger into

I've never understood why somebody would need 50+ pictures from the same spot on the floor. When You look at this pictures a week later, you're not gonna remember what song they were singing for that picture."It's all happening"0 -
