You realize this has NOTHING to due with the test, and everything to do with it being a lottery right?
Wrong. The lottery will have zero impact on most shows where everyone used to get tickets and they still will. The lottery will only have major impact on high demand shows where many people got shut out anyway.
As far as scalpers, a lot of people here have no idea how brokers work. The lottery is much worse for brokers because the old system could be manipulated. Where do you think the tricks came from in terms of accessing certain deeper links, etc? Brokers have no interest in new memberships because a new club number doesn't yield good enough tickets for them to worry about."...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".

my2hands wrote:Yellow Bedwetter wrote:ok i guess i was being generous on capacity figures and fan club alottment. but if its 17,000 and 8% then that makes my point stronger. fewer seats and fewer tix, tix in pairs, and fewer possibilities for highly poplulated 10C regions.
btw: if phish sold out 4 nights of MSG and that attendance was 100,000+ total doesnt that mean MSG holds at least 25K? and how do you put a figure on lawn-accessible venues? thats sorta how i was basing my figures - based on the shows i've seen. once again, ive never seen a show on the west coast or midwest where venues may only hold 17,000.
most arenas hold between 15,000-20,000, depending on the arena... MSG holds 19,500 for end stage concerts... the "wach" in philly is one of the largest in the country and it holds a little over 20,000 i think... the spectrum held 15,000, if even that
ampitheaters with lawns typically hold more
FYI - the two biggest NBA/NHL venues in North America are both located in Canada. Kind of Ironic eh? shows you how much we like our hockey.
Bell Center in Montreal and ACC in Toronto...
I look at the facts online and it says that the Bell center is bigger... I was under the impression that the ACC would be bigger once the renovation was completed, but apparently I'm completely out to lunch.... :crazy:Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -
RS65573 wrote:JimmyV wrote:RS65573 wrote:Thats just not true. Ive never been shut out, because i NEVER gave up til i got them. I went to all 4 phily shows, every garden show since 94....now I can go to 10% of the shows and you think this is close to the same? I think its HORRIBLE. A guy can sign up tomorrow, and have the same shot at tix as a 20 year member.
You can go to as many shows as you want. There are other ways to get tickets. 10C is obviously trying to spread tickets to as many members as possible given the few number of shows the band plays each year.
I mean, it's awesome that you got to go to all four philly shows and every garden show since '94 but wouldn't it have been cool if a younger fan got to go to a few of them? You could travel to some less popular venues, that's always fun. I've seen every show they've played in NZ since 1998 (;)) so I don't really have a choice but to travel if I want to see them more and it's awesome. Cool people, fun times.
Your attitude comes across as a bit selfish. If you've been a member for 20 years, you'll remember that there was a time you couldn't get fanclub tickets to every single show on a tour. This is still better than that.Post edited by bazzer on0 -

what's this? PJ stuff to post about?
now, if we could get a new record, longer than 33 minutes, ahem::::with that blasted, effn' track that apparently has a Motorhead flavor, why oh why did you torture us with that bit of information so many months ago, stone?:::,
and a tour,
with not 1, but 2 legs, we can put this tix pup to the test.

This thread is funny....firstly I think it doesnt matter to the test if they send confirmation emails to lots of people. Presumably they have a set allocation of tickets for each show....in this case 1 per show. the system then randomly allocates the tickets to those who have entered...in this case 1 per show. All they have to know is that the successful email went out and the unsuccessful email went out
In terms of the lottery being less fortunate to those who have been members for years and years. I have loved Pearl Jam since they started. Unfortunately I am from Ireland and that was before the internet was invented....as a result I didnt know the Ten Club existed. I dont think that should mean I have a lesser chance of tickets.
If you have seen Pearl Jam 50 times....maybe its time to let someone who has never seen them before have a ticket. The number of shows you've been to cant be taken as a measure of being more or less of a fan....at the end of the day .... its whether you love the music and represent the values of the band that makes you the better fan.... Pearl Jam have always been about good music and looking after each other...so lets not begrudge each other the chance of tickets and be happy that someone gets to appreciate them even if its not you or me on this occassion.....
I get rocket sick anyway so probably just aswell I missed out this time0 -

What us northeastern US & other high demand areas like Chicago have to do is, line up a reliable ticket buddy or 2.
So you have two sets or more people going for tickets that you will share your other ticket with. And have them choose opposite of what you choose as your priorities for the shows. This way its essentially like you are in the lottery twice.
My number 167xxx. So I will be looking for a reliable tour ticket buddy that lives in the northeast and likes to hit up Boston, Hartford, Albany, New York City, Philly. Possibly DC. Or maybe 2 buddys if one buddy cant hit up all the shows.Pearl Jam Shows: 1998 - 9/11 New York, NY (MSG night 2); 9/13 Hartford, CT || 2000 - 8/24 Wantagh, NY (Jones Beach 2); 8/27 Saratoga Springs; 8/29 Mansfield, MA (night 1); 8/30 Mansfield, MA (night 2) || 2003 - 4/29 Albany, NY; 5/3 State College, PA; 7/2 Mansfield (night 1); 7/6 Camden, NJ (night 2); 7/8 New York, NY (MSG night 1) || 2004 - 9/28 Boston, MA (night 1); 9/29 Boston, MA (night 2) || 2005 - 10/3 Philadelphia, PA || 2006 - 5/12 Albany, NY; 5/13 Hartford, CT; 5/24 Boston, MA (night 1); 5/25 Boston, MA (night 2); 5/27 Camden, NJ (night 1); 5/28 Camden, NJ (night 2)|| 2008 - 6/19 Camden, NJ (night 1); 6/24 New York, NY (MSG night 1); 6/25 New York, NY (MSG night 2); 6/27 Hartford, CT; 6/28 Mansfield, MA (night 1); 6/30 Mansfield, MA (night 2); 7/1 New York, NY (Beacon Theater)|| 2009 - 9/21 Seattle, WA (night 1); 9/22 Seattle, WA (night 2); 10/27 Philadelphia, PA (Spectrum night 1); 10/28 Philadelphia, PA (Spectrum night 2); 10/30 Philadelphia, PA (Spectrum night 3); 10/31 Philadelphia, PA (Spectrum night 4)|| 2010 - 5/15 Hartford, CT; 5/17 Boston, MA; 5/20 New York, NY (MSG night 1); 5/21 New York, NY (MSG night 2)|| 2011 - 9/3 East Troy, WI (PJ20); 9/4 East Troy, WI (PJ20) || 2012 - 9/2 Philadelphia, PA, 9/30 Missoula, MT || 2013 - 7/19 Chicago, IL (Wrigley Field), 10/12 Buffalo, NY, 10/15 Worcester, MA (night 1), 10/16 Worcester, MA (night 2), 10/18 Brooklyn, NY (night 1), 10/19 Brooklyn, NY (night 2), 10/25 Hartford, CT || 2014 - 10/22 Denver, CO || 2015 - 9/26 New York, NY (Global Citizen Festival) || 2016 - 5/1 New York, NY (night 1), 5/2 New York, NY (night 2), 8/5 Boston, MA (Fenway Park night 1), 8/7 Boston, MA (Fenway Park night 2) || 2018 - 9/2 Boston, MA (Fenway Park night 1) || 2020 - 3/30 New York, NY

I wasn't picked for the amongst the wave tour either! I'm not liking this at all0

I was not picked for any of them. The airfare to Mars was ridiculous though so probably a good thing.0

Hello
I signed up for all three shows and did not get selected for any. I am totally not liking this new system. I have been to many shows and have always been able to get my tickets through my 10C membership. If I am not going to be able to do that in the future then why bother pay 50 USD a year. I think this new system is not so good :evil:0
