So a couple of weeks before xmas I went to visit a shelter with my parents to help them choose a dog. Dad had fallen in love with one he had seen on the shelter's site. Get there and the dog is reserved. Mum then sees a dog she'd like to meet ... and we are told that had too been reserved ... so I step in and decide this puppy needed to be taken for a walk
He and his two brothers were 20 weeks old and described as a terrier cross and he had been named Simon.
So two weeks later I go to stay with the folks for xmas and new year and as soon as I get home this little guy settles in next to me on the sofa ...
... and this is what I woke up to every day during my stay
... when my parents took him to the vets for his puppy check and asked if she had any idea what breeds he may be she told them to tell any one asking that he was a 'lovely'Post edited by chime onSo are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?0 -

Lodi and Rifiki look like they may be part dachshund to me??
... and thanks for the comments about Simon. He is awesome and enjoying his three beach walks a day. Unfortunately I live a long way from my parents so am expecting him to be pretty different next time I visit. So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?0 -
Thanks for the love for the pups! They are so bad haha
I'm thinking dachshund as well. That or a lab but they're too small for a lab. Looks like you have a great dog as well, chime.

I'm so sorry. I think I told you, Ernst (who was a lab/retriever mix) tore one ACL when he was very young and then the other one when he was much older. And we didn't do the second surgery (and he ended up being fine, oddly enough).
But good luck to you and Norm. What a drag. If I had to rethink my career choices, vet might be a good one. If I wanted steady money...0 -

Man! And I was bitching about a $220.00 bill the other day. For my Dog's check-up. He
has a trick knee that goes out once in awhile. He's had it since he was a puppy.
So when he was young he would do handstands too pee. He still does now and then.
I feel for you.0 -
Poor ol' Norm. I hope all goes well
I've had a rough month or so. I lost my Dad. He was 82 and live a great life.
Bubba loved him. My dog before her Kostya was Granny's boy but Bubba definitely was Granda's girl.
The last photo I took of him.I can't go the library anymore, everyone STINKS!!0 -
So sorry about your dad, Austicman...My thoughts are with you...and I'm happy you have Bubba to comfort you...They know when you need to hug someone, even if they are sad about things...be philanthropic0
