    1. Love Reign O'er Me (10/7/2009, Universal City, CA)
    2. Falling Slowly (Ed/Glen, 11/1/2012 Las Vegas)
    3. Master's of War (Bob Dylan 50th B-day Celebration,1992)
    4. Red Mosquito (pick any Ben Harper-joins-PJ-on-stage version)
    5. Given To Fly (2000, St Louis, from 'Touring Band' DVD)

The beauty of PJR is that....well, you just cannot go wrong with any 5 song block that they play every day!

Can folks doing this post in advance of their shows airing? I'd love to hear them! E-G-A-G missed yours :( Nice list.

you have to get in contact with pjradio... they have to email back and forth with you a bit, not just post the songs on the forums.

sounds like it's going to be an ongoing series so there should be a lot of input from a lot of different fans.

sorry you missed my take over of pj radio =D

i'll post up when it re-airs.

Yeah, I did that but had an issue with 'tell us why YOU deserve the change' piece and wrote simply that I was not any more deserving of a list being played than any other good fan of the band....not too compelling but how I felt!

congrats. i was able to just kinda talk to vincent when i recorded mine so i didn't really feel nervous... love that version of breath you picked too. that was the last one for a long time, until of course it reappeared at MSG2 1998...
  • They've been doing "Be the Boss" on E-Street Radio for a while now, and always enjoy listening to it to hear how the music speaks to everyone so differently and personally (10:00 am every day). I was thinking how cool it would be to be able to do it for PJ. This is great.

  • Here's my "not really thinking about it" five and in no particular order

    1) Crown of Thorns from the Las Vegas 10th anniversary show...that one song Ed didn't mention...but he really wanted to play it some day "when the time was right."
    2) Release from the first ever show
    3) Daughter from the Virginia Beach (first show after Roskilde) show OR Daughter from Jones Beach off Touring Band 2000
    4) Yellow Ledbetter from the last night of the 2000 tour. "A total hugfest" is how it was described on the Five Horizons (now TFT) Concert Chronology
    5) Come Back from Berlin 2010

if i can weigh in on this - having been to both first one at virginia beach was better in that it was never done prior to that and being the first show after roskilde it was a lot heavier moment.

both were cool and while only the second one made the DVD, the first one was far and away the better version.

ps - i liked your other choices a lot.

agree that va beach was heavier moment but jones beach version blows it away musically and theres obviously emotion there too. just an opinion. both are great.

That's what absolutely gets me on those. The one version on the DVD is fantastic, and even the "I'm gonna stand right here and give you a part" is mind-blowingly awesome, like a huge hug between the band and the fans.

But...just the emotion of the "the last time we asked the fans to do something" comments is too powerful. It was even raining that night, which just adds to the surrealness of it all.

That first one from Virginia Beach needs to be on some DVD as an Easter Egg.

These are airing at 10AM and 5PM Eastern, not sure for how long. So far listened to eladder's and John Reynolds from NJ (are you Two Feet Thick John Reynolds?). Loved Eric's Bridge School story (listening to the boots, never imagining he'd ever attend and then going in 2010), and John's choice of Faithfull and description ("for after you come down from the tree" or something to that effect). Would be cool if these were made available on the PJ Radio on pearljam.com, I think lots more people would listen and be into it.

Making me think of what my list would be :)
