Why should the taxpayers pay for the armed guards? If the NRA thinks armed guards in every school is the solution, then let the NRA pay for it.
They are armed policemen. So funded by one's taxes. So either they take current police off the streets and give them their 40 hours of training to be in the school environment or they hire new policemen. There are already not enough police on the streets and with cutbacks, there is no money to hire a shitload more.0 -

That's alright, just turn to the outdoor channel.0 -

Or tax the shit out of guns and bullets and let that revenue sort some of the problems out."My brain's a good brain!"0 -

It is priceless the value of child police relationship. This the positivity that lasts a lifetime.
Nothing like learning cops are good people. It is not only for safety but for relationship value.
We can see in others who never learn this value, filled with negativity,
we see how they conduct themselves with others.
Very disrespectfully, very much in bullying ways. Resource officers properly trained,
make all the difference in a person's life.
I could only wish this will come to your school so you can open your heart
to a lovely human being who will mean much to you and children.)
I hope having police patrolling Kindergarten hallways is not what things come to. That would be crazy to me. Its fucking scary and does not feel like freedom in my opinion.
You can probably understand then just how great having an officer in a child's life can be.
Not every child has this. Many live in areas where police are not respected
and crime is plentiful. Illegal and legal guns plentiful. Bad examples from bad people.
I think you can see how wonderful a good relationship between child and officer
can change a life. Positively positive change.
Let's look to those who might need this relationship to change their lives.
Lets look at the positive instead of the negative.
Resource officers are a very good thing in every school across our country.
Something the government should be preparing for now. Like I said lots of new
jobs for the unemployed also. And a new friend to love.
We have a millwright and a manager of Walgreens in our family. we are so lucky It is wonderful!0 -

Or cut foreign aid to countries like Greece, Israel, and Egypt.0 -

Both would be wise."My brain's a good brain!"0 -

Medieval history.
Excuses man. Excuses.
Instead of flaunting such dribble... just come out and say: "It's statistically likely not going to be me caught in the crossfire... so as long as it's not me catching bullets... I'd prefer to keep my cool guns!"
Because this is exactly what people think when you hide behind such a flawed and insubstantial argument."My brain's a good brain!"0 -

Correction 5k per bullet is what he wanted, one would be more careful and cautious where and when one shoots.
Peace
I remember that bit!
"You better watch out, man! Cos in 2 or 3 years, after I save me up some money, I'm gonna come back here and pop your ass!"
It really is a brilliant idea though.... I guess a black market on bullets might begin, but even that would immediately become too expensive for most criminals. And it would really cramp up the gun culture part of the problem. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -

The USSR?
Nazi Germany?
Not exactly medieval history... Ya know, 70 years ago.. and I'm not saying it would happen here... it just has happened in the past.0 -

The majority of Russians supported the revolution, and the majority of Germans supported Hitler by the end of the 1930's. So your examples are moot.0 -

I'm just saying it's not ancient history... it really isn't. That's about the only point I made... Not sure how people supporting the revolution and the rise of Hitler has to do with it.0 -

What's not ancient history? The Russian and German people weren't attacked by their governments, apart from some minority groups.0 -

And for that 23M Soviets and 8M Germans lost their lives. Yep, gun control works...for the governments.0 -

Stalin sent how many millions to die? They were slaughtering their own. How many were sent to gulags for writing poems? The people WERE attacked by their own governments.0 -

Do you really think that the US would fare any better if your government turned on its people? Honestly, what makes Americans so special that they would/could fight back? Seriously, what would you and your guns do in the face of a modern military threat? They certainly haven't made that much difference for the Iraqis or the Afghanis who are mere ants against the might of the US military.0 -

More police would be hired to fill the positions with special training, influences towards
community and children. It is going to take many solutions to help insure
this violence in the school is not repeated.
I would think everyone would want to do all they can towards that.
I was just at our local Mall... armed police all over. Little kids seeing armed police...
they were laughing enjoying the last few days before Christmas, armed Police there to protect.
Why shouldn't we provide the same in our schools?
Is it because some parents are afraid of guns? Those same parents are they ok
being protected in the mall? In the airport? I see a police man and I feel safer.
I am safer.
Parents need not put their fears onto their children. Kids are ok with Police armed or otherwise
and learn to respect them if their parents do.
I'm not sure how others feel but my wish would have been
that a Resource Officer had come with the new security measures
there at the last school shooting so at least the kids had a fighting chance.0
