    Forgot to tell you: I got in this gunfight yesterday going Christmas shopping. Fuk's sakes. Leave it to me. I only had my 9mm. Moron. Anyways... the other guy had an AK. I was ducking, dodging, bobbing and weaving... it was over for me. I could only squeeze off a couple of blind rounds (I was hiding below a bunch of sandbags stacked in the mall parking lot... reaching over the top firing somewhere in his general direction). Just when I thought I was tits up... this lady screamed up in her Toyota Avalon... jumped out with her M-16... and fired 12 rounds into the asshole who was trying to get me. I bought her an egg nog latte.

    She told me afterwards she didn't really know who was the bad guy, but figured the aggressor with the bigger gun was and she promptly let him have it. Thank God she was right! Geezuz.

    I have heard that unhappy people are filled with negativity. Positivity
    makes people happy and others around them as well.

    I have experienced resource officers and they are a positive person in children's lives.
    It is not armed guards in our schools. It is resource officers.
    They are wonderful people who teach much to our children.
    They are mentors to help show children to follow the law, care about others,
    be respectful and to realize the reality we live in. They provide safety
    and a quick reaction to back up law enforcement.
    Police presence helps to keep lawlessness from happening, they are our friends.

    But unfortunately we can't do that. Criminals will always have guns.
    Evil will find guns. Responsible gun owners will hide them so they are prepared
    to protect against criminals. We can not control people
    therefore we must be prepared and protect as best we can.
    Resource offers are a very positive influence as I mentioned for so many reasons
    besides the obvious.     My children now grown adults still speak of him though it has
    been well over a decade.

    Let's get that ball rolling. Resource offices in schools nationwide immediately.
    It can also help bring employment to many.

    Armed officers in schools are just that - whatever 'gentle' name one wants to give them. How many would one need it the school? One for each entrance? One in front of each classroom? From the time the first child arrives to the time the last one leaves?

    Teaching respect and reality???? What reality? Carry a gun, shoot and kill?

    As a poster said, those kind of things are taught by the parents.

    I don't want them in my kids school. As I said earlier, scares me a lot more than making me feel safer. More guns is NOT the answer. I just can't wrap my head around adding guns to a learning environment as being positive.

    Negativity abounds.

    Do you think our Police can only teach gun violence?

    Do you think Police have nothing to offer a child but a gun?

    Do you not respect Police Officers?

    This a sad perspective to a very positive influence in a child's life.

    As I said we have them here and they are loved. A valuable part of the school experience.
    As are the workings together of parents, teachers and community.
    We had one full time and one part time. They were friends and we were glad to know them.
    It is important for children to know Police are our friends.

    Perhaps you can try to be more positive and not paint our Police in a unattractive light.
    Police can influence children in so many positive ways. Any reasonable person will admit this.
    Resource Officers are wonderful.
