Glen Hansard guest stars on Parenthood tonight

I watch Parenthood every week, and was pleasantly surprised when Glen showed up as a guest star tonight!
He played himself, a musician who was recording at the Luncheonette, a recording studio in the Haight Ashbury region of San Francisco, which is owned by two of the brothers on the show. Not only did he have a small speaking role, but he also sang a beautiful song towards the end of the show.
Great job, Glen!!

They also used Falling Slowly to promote some episodes from season 3.
no question thats true. He's just a regular guy. Struggled in relative obscurity for maybe 15 years, although The Frames were big in the UK, and then Once came out and it changed everything for him. Quite an interesting guy. His story of meeting Van Morrison as a kid is facinating. Theres such great music in ireland, with his friend Damien Rice and Lisa Hannigan as well.
And it fit in so beautifully, didn't it??
