    Ours is too! It is my mother's middle name, and was my grandfather's middle name. A family name, and there is that band... ;)

    When we were choosing names we looked at the meaning of the name as well. Our second child (a girl) is Carlin. The name means "little champion" and since we knew she would be born early and small (just a little over 4lbs) the name had a significant meaning as we sensed it would always be a reflection on her first days in this world.
