Romney didn't show me any substance. I still have no clue what his platform was, as it changed all the time. I don't always agree with what Obama says, but at least I know what he's about. I couldn't bring myself to vote for somebody that I couldn't get a reading on at all.

Yeah, I will say the media-entertainment-academia complex did a good job of obfuscating a good and, sure, powerful man's entire career and record into a single sound bite, rendering him an etch a sketch. But I think Romney and Ryan presented plenty of substance, it was just unpalatable for many reasons. Gimme another spoonful of sugar and put that castor oil away!

"I am so proud to be elected leader of this great and most wonderful country on earth, now join with me to change it...."

As for my beliefs, I haven't voted for any incumbent politician for over 16 years now.... except democratic governor Gray Davis. And then I voted to recall him!

Substance. Give me a fucking break. Ryan had a plan that has been laughed at by anyone with half a brain. Romney ran faster to the middle than Usain Bolt.

Edit: and it seems like you may stick out as the one with the academia complex

Well my opinion didn't come from the media giving me a single sound bite. I watched two of the debates (not the first one, I've heard a lot about that one, mainly about Obama blowing it) and Romney couldn't sway me. You're actually starting to sound pretty venomous now, implying that I was somehow tricked by the media as opposed to forming an opinion, so I'm just going to choose to stop talking to you now. Just in case we run into each other on the boards in the future and actually want to have a friendly conversation. The election is over, the band is continuing, and I'd much rather not get into it with you in case I end up liking you later.

It is clear based on the last four years and his lack of an agenda.

Haven't we learned that the last 4 years are anything but clear? Pick a stat or a number or an issue and depending on who you ask, things are better or worse than they were before Obama. Conveniently, those opinions often line up with who you happened to back for president. So saying that it's clear to you simply betrays your political leanings, but doesn't make it any "clearer." Saying you'll give the guy a fair shake while simultaneously saying how bad he is, was, or will be, comes off as of course completely disingenuous.

that was a great speech. when he talked about voting and politics and he said that there are people all over the world fighting for the right to argue, it really hit me hard. i take that right for granted every day... and i thought it was really good towards the end where he was nearly shouting his speech. he sounded like a leader for once...

to see the diversity at that celebration was beautiful. that is the perfect image for me to see before going to bed :)

i have a lot of respect for steve schmidt. i watched several channels tonight and i happend to be on msnbc when he said this. and i think he is right.

Steve Schmidt, Former McCain Adviser: Time For GOP Leaders To Reject 'Extreme Statements'

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/0 ... 86051.html

Steve Schmidt, a Republican strategist and former campaign adviser to Sen. John McCain, tore into GOP leadership in the wake of President Barack Obama's victory on Tuesday, urging them to speak out more aggressively against the most extreme voices in the party.

Appearing on MSNBC, Schmidt referenced a recent Twitter tirade by Donald Trump as evidence that something needs to be done about toning down the rhetoric from certain elements of the GOP.

"Now, people calling for revolution and these extreme statements -- when I talk about a civil war in the Republican Party, what I mean is, it's time for Republican elected leaders to stand up and to repudiate this nonsense, and to repudiate it directly," he said. "There has been a culture of fear and intimidation, that you are not a real conservative if you won't, you know, if you won't, you know, stand -- if you stand up to these extreme statements, whether it's Rush Limbaugh calling that young lady a slut or a hundred other examples over the last four years."

Controversial statements by Republican candidates became devastating campaign issues in a number of races this year. Senate elections in Missouri and Indiana in particular were rocked when the GOP nominees made eyebrow-raising remarks about rape. Missouri Rep. Todd Akin and Indiana state Treasurer Richard Mourdock lost, but not before forcing party officials to make tough decisions about continuing support of their candidacies.

Schmidt has been happy to run against the Republican grain as Election Day approached. Earlier this week, he claimed that popular GOP arguments about alleged widespread voter fraud were simply part of the party's "mythology."

Ah, nah don't mean to be venomous, just sad. I really believe we are all really close on most issues and it just comes down to priorities. I will always be proud of our president's accomplishments and sadden by the failures. I think mitt had a solid record and was capable of being president.

Obama has a proud record and four more years to add to it. He has definitely earned it.

Well, this is the guy that had a lot to do with everyone knowing the name Sarah Palin, but since that election, I would agree that he has come a long ways. I most definitely respect his opinion. A lot more than that clown, Fleischer.
