Well I was gonna go into the city for a little while before the show, then take a subway to Brooklyn. Depends on the train/subway situation. Otherwise I'll just drive to Williamsburg. Anyone wanna meet up beforehand for a drink?YieldToNothing wrote:lirr will be fine, but it doesnt stop in williamsburg"Now YOU listen. Are any of you guys going to the New York City show on the 8th ???0

Just heard that Cuomo declared free fares for MTA, LIRR, subways and buses through Friday. I'm definitely taking the train and subway!"Now YOU listen. When we are on this ship, you are to refer to me as 'Idiot' not 'You Captain'!"

problem is the subways that go to williamsburg from nyc aren't running yet and they may not be running by friday evening....there is a shuttle that's been going from midtown to williamsburg but i'm not sure it'll be running back to manhattan at the time the show endsi have a paper here that entitles me to fast track status0 -

We could all catch it together, and split a cab back maybe?

was planning on going to this, but do you guys in the area think it will be a clusterf_ck to drive down from CT with all that's going on?
i may do the bowery show next week instead..i'm more a fan of popular bands.. like the bee-gees, pearl jam0 -
If you guys are planning to come down, leave in the morning. And make sure you have at least 3 people in the car. They aren't letting cars on bridges into the city with less than 3 people in them. It's about a 5-6 hour traffic jam to get in. I would suggest taking a train, if you can. Otherwise, Bowery might be your best bet.DPrival78 wrote:was planning on going to this, but do you guys in the area think it will be a clusterf_ck to drive down from CT with all that's going on?

I definitely plan on taking advantage of the free fares with the trains. I just hope there's a late enough train out to Long Island after the show. Otherwise, like I said to someone, RNDM is gonna have an extra guest on their bus!

Probly ronkonkoma or Babylon. Don't know if they'll be running after the show though. The subway system looks like a disaster. I'm hesitant to depend on subway. What ferry could we take? Hearing all of the traffic and driving issues people are having has me ruling that out.LiLiNY81 wrote:

I was gonna do Ronkonkoma too, if Islip isn't running. I did hear they were opening some subway lines. Definitely don't wanna drive. I guess we really can't plan until tomorrow when they make more progress.branscop wrote:

There's the East River Ferry, which lets you out pretty close to Music Hall of Williamsburg, except probably not late enough to take for this show... Last one leaves @6pm! I would definitely not advise depending on the subway either! I'm not even sure that it's running yet? At least I lucked out and got the week off work because we had no power @ the office! Group cabs were always our backup plan though, I say that route-

gonna take the last ferry and go have a beer in williamsburg, then let's all convene and tak some group cabs out at midnight-ish. roads should be clear by then. pm me if you want my #, we'll have fun.
its gonna be like 40 of us at the show, should be surreali have a paper here that entitles me to fast track status0
