You support his actions, but he should have gotten congressional approval....arming Ghaddafi's opposition was a good thing....but it left a vacuum for terrorists?
You have such a hard-on for Obama that you can't even keep your opinions straight from one post to the next.
btw - I used the word 'imperial'....and yes, bombing Libya absolutely was a strategic imperialist move. NATO is guilty of that, and yes, Obama shares in that guilt.fear4freedom wrote:Egypt went Muslim.....their new president is Muslim Brotherhood and may be a radical....cant win them all i guess!

fear4freedom wrote:Let me see here......if we implement tough sanctions the GOOD people of Iran suffer and the govt. body still has what they need! The GOOD people suffer slowly and many of them may starve or live a life in hell!
If we bomb them strategically in 35 locations with precision guided bombs, the govt. body is killed, Israel survives, and the GOOD people get the food, goods, water necessary to thrive! Also, the GOOD people of Iran take over the system and implement a more peaceful govt. body!
Now, Im not sure what type of IQ it takes to see the better choice here, but hey my opinion is to help the green revolutionary movement and the GOOD people of Iran, all while saving Israel!
That to me is an easy decision, but for most of the world who cannot see the bigger picture, they indecisivness is killing more GOOD people than if we would just bomb the shiat out of Irans key locations!
Right. Strategic bombing only kills government, sparing the GOOD people. Right. We've seen that happen over and over. Right. Good people don't get bombed. Right. :fp:

And whos to say the guy sitting at the desk of the Iranian government isn't just a 'good' guy? I work for a government, does that make me a target if another country doesn't like what my government does? A justifable target?Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. I'm glad Eddie Vedder doesn't read this message board... I think he might re-think that, 'Pearl Jam fans tend to be smarter' remark he made earlier. I think he's happier believing in that myth.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

Excellent point. The whole "let's bomb them" answer to things just makes no sense at all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaS2bRGS86c"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -

I agree with you. I work for a large company that has divisions that execute Government (Defense) contracts that include weapons systems and weapons delivery systems up to and including nuclear capable advanced cruise missles and global ballistic missiles.
I should be one of the bad Government people and a viable target for a terrorist attack, shouldn't I? Because I work for a company whose seperate divisions build bombs... that are, apparently, smarter than the people whom advocate their usage.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! And all of you would do what to protect the GOOD people of Iran and Israel?
Cause doing nothing will hurt everyone.....and implementing hard sanctions is obviously hurting the innocent Iranian people!
So lets see what your policy would beTheres no time like the present

If you're talking Iranian protection from their own government and culture (which I doubt)), then right or wrong, there are options for that (options that don't involve bombs).0 -
Policy starts with telling Israel to start behaving themselves. No more settlements, start treating the citizens of Palestine like human beings, eventually moving towards a two state solution. Those building settlements, aren't good people.
The poster above me has a good point, Israel should play by the same rules everyone else does.
Then bring everyone to the table to negotiate a solution.Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V0 -

Ok so for every rocket that is fired into Israel, Israel can fire one back? Cause that would be playing by the same rules! You seem to forget that Palestinians fired hundreds of rockets into Israel this past year! How can you ignore that? Also, this past year Israel has retreated more than pushed outward! Fact!Theres no time like the present

please support these claims. Pretty sure you're flat out lying here.
Also....Does your tooth for a tooth approach go both ways? Cause I'm sure Gaza would still owe israel a few thousand bombs since over 3000 tons of explosives were dropped during Cast Lead.0 -

Dude, do you work for aipac? It's pretty obvious you're one of those supporters of Israel who wants America to do its dirty work for them. Fucken sad. And you fucken wonder why these people hate our "government!"
Here's a question for all you supporters of bombing Iran. I'm curious as to HOW FAST would Israel make PEACE with ALL IT'S ARAB NEIGHBORS if America said "we don't have your back."
But that'll NEVER happen as long as they control our government. Such a shame that such a small country has that much pull.... :corn:0 -

take a look at a map of israel and palestine over the past 70 years...notice a difference in size or time? The middle east has such a disdain for America in very very large part for our un-budging support for israel. And since when the fuck does bombing a target guarantee that you don't kill innocent civilians in the process? You're entitled to your opinion but to think that bombing a country guarantees the end result you want is ignorant. We bombed the shit out of Iraq a lot over the past 25 years and I still see terrorism in their country on almost a daily basis....countries need to enforce themselves..and that includes our buddies over in Israel. They like to talk a tough game, let them fend for themselves without the US in their corner and lets see how tough they talk after...i think they'll change their minds about negotiation their borders.0

Here's what gets me about people who think war and bombing is a clean, surgical cut that only kills bad guys...
Yes... it would do the trick... if you can pinpoint the bad guy and paint him with a laser guide and have the thing whack him on the head from jet a few thousand feet overhead. The impact WILL kill him.
Now, the problem is... you pack the bomb with 500 pounds of explosives and even if you can get him out in the open and paint his head with a laser guide... the explosion is going create a huge impact on anything and anyone around him.
This would not be a problem if all the bad guys hung out at bad guy places... such as terrorist prisons or terrorist pilates classes or terrorist coffee shops... but, they don't. And anyone around them is considered to be 'at the wrong place, at the wrong time'. Doesn't matter if they have nothing to do with the terrorist... or terrorism, they are going to feel the effects of a 500 pound bomb going off nearby. Those things... that's what turns the collateral damaged person's brother/son/friend/countryman into someone that wants to fly a 767 into our office buildings.
...
Also... The people who want war the least... are the soldiers who prepare for war. The ones who want it the most... unless they strap on the Kevlar, pick up a weapon and get shipped off to the other side of the globe to fight because someone sitting in a living room wants to place them at risk... are nothing more than fucking cowards.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions!
