Watch Mike McCready's "Life is a Pre-exisiting Condition" video.

"Life is a Pre-existing Condition" was made in collaboration with Mike's friend and filmmaker, Jesse Dylan. The video and a personal letter from the two about why this topic is so important to them is at:

    Bravo Mike.
This is such an important issue; it really upsets me that there bare people out there who struggle andbsuffer horribly because they can't afford the necessary care they need. As a Canadian, It absolutely blows my mind that there are people in the US who don't support this and that anyone at all needs convincing, but since that is apparently the case for some reason, it's great to see Mike making such a poignant statement about it. :) I hope it reaches some of those who need to grasp it.

Absolutely love this band and the people in it!

The causes that they are not afraid to tackle, the activism they are proud to carry out. So many of us can relate on such a basic HUMAN level.

I appreciate the fact that each and every one of the band members' have a spine, a true compassion and are truly people that are inspiring, even without the most touching music they produce in their 'spare' time of living.

I can't put into words how much this video means as a mom who wants her son to have coverage and not be penalized for having cancer aged 5! Thanks so much! xxx THIS issue is exactly why I looked like a pumpkin in Missoula talking to John Tester about Sammy.

Thanks Mike! I too have been denied coverage and it just isn't right. The Affordable Care Act is moving us all in the right direction. Keep up the good work :D

The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

Thankfully, I have been covered since my Crohn's diagnosis 12 years ago. However, the thought of losing my job (due to extended medical absences) has hung over my head for years. Lose my job, lose my coverage. Any break in insurance coverage and I am denied future coverage because of my pre-existing condition.

I'm extremely thankful to have folks like Mike and the late Jennifer Jaff standing out in front fighting for us.

Individually, our voices are silent...together we speak volumes.

    Cheers,

So glad that Mike did this. It is shameful that we let people go without health coverage in this country. Thanks for taking on this controversial topic, Mike
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

Thanks very much for the production of this video...what an important issue. I would be okay with a more direct political message, but I can appreciate the message sticking with the issue.

Katyz...I wish you and your son the best of care and treatment. As an uncle who lost a 9 yr old nephew to cancer, it is truly amazing to see what these young people are able to endure with the grace of folks well beyond their years. Prayers for you guys!
It's amazing what you hear when you take time to listen.

Thank you so much! We are lucky to be living in a time when many more children are living despite having had cancer, but the treatment is awful and I am so...SO sorry your nephew passed away because of this dreadful disease. We know how lucky we are. We also see Sammy living with 'late effects' that will stay with him (and hopefully not become more serious) as he grows up. If coverage is denied to him, he will have a whole new battle to face...one that is not deserved by people who have already faced so much.

This video needs to be spread as far and wide as possible as the issue affects so many people.

Mike McCready will be interviewed regarding his "Life Is A Pre-Existing Condition" video, and the petition he encourages us to sign, on MSNBC tonight, Friday, October 26th, at 8:50PM on The Ed Schultz Show
I was alone and far away when I heard the band start playing!

...I was always a DeadHead, but when I first heard Winston Rodney, aka the Burning Spear, sing, I became a SpearHead too!

Thanks for the heads up...I have it set to record. Wish it was more than 10 minutes...actually interested in hearing his position.
