Anyone go to this show? Mike came out into the crowd, rain and soloed during Even Flow in the first few rows. He nearly smacked my head with the headstock of his very, very beat up Fender Strat. If you've never heard this show - it's a must listen. Would love to find some video of this show....

Yep, was there. It was POURING rain and lightning.
Was he actually in the seats?
He stepped out from underneath the stage cover. I think i was around the 12th row so when McCready stepped down so I couldn't really see him or how far into the crowd he went. But when he started to climb back on the stage (while soloing this entire time) he slipped at the front of the stage due to it being wet and nearly face-planted. Freaking intense and awesome!!
(Yesterday was the 12 year anniversary of my first show 10.12.00 at the same venue - Sandstone) Ah the memories!"So much it dont show"0 -
I miss Sandstone! It's called Sandstone again now by
The way!! Thank GOD!!! Cause it was NEVER Verizon

Yep. He was so close I could see all the fading on his Strat. Insane. One of the most vivid Pearl Jam memories from a show I can remember.www.cluthelee.com0 -

I was at this show...I am pretty sure I was really close to you...I was like 2 or 3rd row at this show right in front of Mike....I didn't think this show was going to get in....It rained so hard right before the show...Had to stand on the chairs down close to the stage...Since the water was running down the hill...I remember Men and Women fighting to get in bathrooms....To get out of the rain...

I know this thread is ANCIENT news, but I've not been on here in a very very very long time...
For those above who were desperate to hear it, I suggest Rhapsody...
http://www.rhapsody.com/artist/pearl-ja ... ansas-city
...you can stream the whole thing on Rhapsody if you're a member... but if you really want to buy, I did see it used on Amazon for a fairly reasonable price - http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/ ... eller=&sr= ...the "NEW" price is flat out absurd. Very wrong. I think I paid about $15 for my CDs very shortly after the show/tour... At least they made them available when and how they could. Listening now, it's still as magical as it was to actually witness.
Was randomly looking for video of this show, as it's been nearly 10 years. Missed them in KC in 2010. Feeling nostalgic tonight for some reason. Suppose that since not everyone had camcorders on their cell phones, that this is not likely there's much video out there of this show. In retrospect, as I type, I actually don't mind. My memory is rather well jogged by the audio...
Incredible show indeed. The solo during Even Flow was pure magic. Also of interest was the bolt of lightning that Ed notices off in the distance and says "That's something!"
...Listening to it, you would never know the chaos that Mike went through on stage, it's seamless.
No matter what, I'm glad to have seen the band the few times that I have. This show especially will always be memorable. Crazy time in life when I saw this show. Bittersweet.
Thanks for listening. Please carry on

I was there. I remember that it was raining so hard that you couldn't finish your beer because it would just fill back up. It was a one of a kind experience.0

Not to sound cliche, but I had to throw away a pair of Docs after that show. Standing all fucking morning and day in line to get tickets (paid off), sunburned, tired and soaked to the bone, but worth it. Had school the next day and my Ethics professor saw my PJ t-shirt and sunburn and told me after class because I purposefully skipped a day, my grade was knocked down to a B. Grad school - what a bitch! Oh well! Look at me now! Hahahaha!

This was an awesome show. I was lucky to be sitting 2nd row in front of Mike, he walked right on top of our seat backs during that solo. I remember not being able to see the bottom of our seats because they were submerged in water. All of the rain ran downhill to the front and I was standing knee deep in water the whole show, but well worth it.
...And then I go to Wrigley for another show in the rain....great experiences!I'll ride the wave, where it takes me...0 -
