I think the EMEK SB is a play on both "Little Black Submarines" and "Yellow Submarine."
Looking forward to round 3 this week (SB, KROQ Breakfast) with the Keys tonight at Staples Center!0 -

I'm heading to the Phoenix show tonight. How tough is it to get a poster? Do they usually sell out before the show or can I get one when showing up @ show time?

Not usually. I don't think the craze has quite hit the Black Keys. At the Portland show, they were still available at the end of the night. However, the Portland poster wasn't the greatest, and I like Guy Burwell.0 -

Depends. Both the EMEK in Santa Barbara and the Mr. Brainwash prints in LA sold out before Tegan and Sara went on. I heard the first Mr. BW sold out in 20 min. Luckily, I got there early enough in SB (doors) and at LA2(~25min after doors) to grab both. Both of those were limited out of 175-190 though. Not sure about the run for PHX but their facebook does say "limited edition."NAUjackfan wrote:I'm heading to the Phoenix show tonight. How tough is it to get a poster? kasedog is totally right. It all depends on the artist. If you get in at opening, you should be ok.0 -

Thanks for the info. I don't know how popular DKNG is, but here's a link to the Phoenix show poster http://store.dkngstudios.com/product/th ... ys-phoenix

The Phoenix show was a blast! Great set-list and lts of energy int he arena. I got my show poster and it'll be on the wall soon.
But...seeing a show like that really makes me appreciate PJ more. Dan is 25-ish years younger than Ed and has maybe half his energy on stage. After seeing the Missoula PJ show, it's hard to see someone rock out with so little dancing and jumping. I know not to compare McCready to anyone, that dude is going to be scissor kicking into the grave.

i really liked the Zoltron poster last night!
as for the rehearsal album -- seems like a cash grab to me. Why not release a live album at least0 -

The show prints were also S/N out of 180. I think mine is #65.

I thought their CA shows rocked and Dan was great. Different dynamic as he's always playing lead guitar and singing. My only critique, and this comes from being spoiled by PJ, is that the Keys don't vary their setlist from show to show. There was only one song difference between SB and LA2, and it was the exact same order. I attended KROQ's Kevin & Bean Breakfast with the Black Keys also and they even opened that with "Howlin For You." They could definitely mix it up a little more, especially when they're playing duo songs. Wish they'd do more in that suite but realize that most fans are only familiar with Brothers and El Camino. Noticed in SB when I was singing along with "Same Old Thing" that nobody in my immediate vicinity knew that song, or other duo songs like "thickfreakness" or "Girl Is On My Mind." Still wouldn't turn down seeing them on any given night though. Fun shows.NAUjackfan wrote:The Phoenix show was a blast! Great set-list and lts of energy int he arena.
