Newbury Comics is a great place to preorder cd's from since a good amount of preorders come with signed cd booklets. I've gotten Tom Morello, Ben Harper, John Popper, Godsmack, Aaron Lewis, Dropkick Murphys, Cypress Hill, and Cage The Elephant, and soon to be RNDM cd's with signed booklets from preorders there.
I love Newbury Comics. Please keep buying stuff from them, I remember reading somewhere that their future was questionable :(

Too bad they didn't offer this type of option for the Walking Papers release. I already ordered mine from the Barrett Martin website but I would definatly order another one if Newbury offered it with a signed booklet.

That sucks. It's sad folks today are going the root of buying digital inferior mp3 iTunes album downloads or downloading them free online for free. There's nothing more exciting to opening that clear plastic case and check out the artwork, especially on Vinyl.

Yeah, I still like having the physical thing but admittedly I do download music when it's stuff I just want to check out rather than bands I love, I have a bit of a hoarding, uh, collecting problem.:lol: Newbury Comics and WBCN got me through college. BCN isn't on air anymore and when I read that Newbury Comics was struggling that made me really sad.

When it comes to Jeff, I like to dream big and then deal with the let down. I'm hoping the pre-sale means all the vinyl will be signed as a surprise for us.

Never a let down with Jeff. Only letdown is the dude needs to come solo here to the Maritimes with his solo projects. I hope someday down that long road Three Fish is able to create another masterpiece.

There are let downs when you're talking about my innocent Jeff-related fantasies. We'll see about the signed RNDM vinyl, but I also didn't run into him in a Missoula coffee shop and have a long chat with him about the town and then stroll down to the street market to browse, nor did he show up to the Mike Watt show, and then have a drink with me after while we discussed the PJ concert the night before ...:lol:  :fp: You're right though, no real life disappointments from him! ;)

I was at the Mike Watt show... what did you think? And yeah, there was the rumor going around that a PJ member would show up...

I thought the music was incredible. That man's creativity is so impressive, and the skill on the bass, not to mention Tim Watts's skills on the guitar... madness! :) And the nuance and intricacy they managed between one another... never really seen anything like that before. He wore himself out though, eh? I thought he was going to just collapse and die right in front of us after the first set.

The crowd was absolute shit though. It really detracted from the whole experience. I've never been so disgusted by an audience before.

The music was incredible, I loved how he said at the beginning that he was going to play one song that lasts 45 minutes... It pretty much did, with a few breaks. We were laughing about the opening band; we were hanging out with a cool local woman who had to bug them to start, and the bass player said that they play speed metal and would be done 15 minutes later. He was right! Every song of theirs was a minute long.

I don't get your opinion of the crowd though. Why do you think they were so bad, because I didn't get that at ALL.

I agree - I've only bought two so far, other than the RNDM signed booklet - Ben Harper and MMJ

Where were you standing? I was right up in front of the stage, and there were drunks falling down all over the stage and staggering around during the show while they tried to headbang and fights were breaking out and stuff. I had to shove spazzed out drunk guys off me a number of times. I know the back half of the room was calm (but talking - a CONSTANT loud babble coming from there for the entire show - didn't you notice that??? People up front were yelling at everyone to shut the fuck up). Worse crowd I've ever seen from where I was, and my neighbors agreed! But glad you weren't noticing all that bullshit from your vantage point.

Yeah, I was half way back on the left. The crowd seemed fine and really into it where I was. I think if you focus on the music hard enough, everyone else just doesn't matter, anyway (unless they're drunks falling into you).

Yeeaaahhh... pretty hard not to notice when you're fearing for your safety, throwing drunks off, and some skank is whipping her smelly hair in your face while some other guy is screaming in your ear "EVERYBODY SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!":lol: BUT I still did manage to really and truly appreciate the music that was happening. :D
