    Just got the following email - schedule included:

    We’re excited to see you at the Global Citizen Festival on the Great Lawn at Central Park this Saturday, September 29.

    Ahead of the big day, we wanted to remind you of the key details for the event:

    · Event Date: Saturday, September 29th, 2012

    · Venue: The Great Lawn, Central Park

    · Entrance: as per your ticket

    · ADA-Accessible Entrance: East 84th & 5th Avenue

    · Gates Opens: 2:00PM *

    · Showtime: 4:40PM * (music starts at 5pm)

    * Please note all times are subject to change


    General Guidelines

    · Global Citizen Festival is all ages event

    · Global Citizen Festival is a rain or shine event. If it looks like rain, bring a coat as umbrellas aren’t allowed.

    · Please make sure to print and bring your ticket to the event entrance. Or get the Eventbrite app to pull up your tickets on your phone and go paperless!

    · You will not be admitted into the event without a ticket under any circumstances

    · There are no in and out privileges

    · There are no refunds or exchanges

    · All patrons are subject to search upon entry

    At 5 PM the show will begin with an amazing performance from Somali-Canadian hip hop star K'Naan, followed by rockers Band of Horses. After them, The Black Keys will take the stage at around 6 PM. At just before 7, Foo Fighters will use their music to call for action against extreme poverty, and after 8 PM Neil Young with Crazy Horse will do what they do best: raise awareness and help fight injustice with their timeless, classic-studded set.

    Celebrity hosts and world leaders will be there throughout the day. The world's leading charities will celebrate new commitments to combating extreme poverty. Trust us, you don't want to miss a single moment. Gates are at 2 PM, surprises start at 5. We expect a line to start building over night, and If you arrive early you'll get closest to the stage.

    I got West Gate tickets...so entering at 72nd St...anybody else meeting up for beers near that gate?
    The site says 60K tickets...not in a rush for K'Naan, but hope to get there right as his set ends ;)


    I found one bar called Amsterdam Ale House at 76th and Amsterdam Ave. Couple of blocks away. I don't know much about the area. Keep us posted. Will check forum day of.

    Im at West gate too. Not sure about our pregame. Alehouse sounds good but not sure we're heading to a bar.
    There are lots of rules! No blankets no umbrellas no smoking (not that I smoke). Holy cow!

    And no Frisbees!

    Smoking isn't allowed within any park in NYC. It's not gonna rain so umbrellas aren't going to be an issue. :P

    Off to NYC in an hour!! TOMORROW! Since Montana is and always was out of the question for me, this concert/weekend is certainly the next best thing and most welcome distraction I can think of! :D

    Yeah, I always wondered that too, I think the fact that they were supposed to play and there is a slight chance for a cameo keeps it here...

    If Eds going to be anywhere I'm going with Damien Echols book signing in Seattle tonight.

    I was thinking Justin B cause his girls gonna be there. I didn't go looking at his schedule or anything. Just sayin.

    Be prepared for short sets, probably a few songs each and a whole bunch of talking about poverty...I love this stuff tho!

    And no alcohol except in VIP I heard.
