Doug Fister of the Tigers just set an American League record 9 straight strike outs. Kind of surprised that the record was only 8...I have certain rules I live by ... My First Rule ... I don't believe anything the government tells me ... George Carlin

Attended R.A. Dickey's start today, even though the Mets are 72-84, seeing him get that 20th victory was a cool atmosphere and that Travis Snider catch might have been among the best I've ever seen.Reading 2004

Standard for a Cubs fan to talk about attendance. But I guess that's the argument you have to go with when your team hasn't won in 104 years.0 -

The Sox fans argument has always been, cubs fans are idiots for showing up and supporting a bad team. Fair enough argument, and I think we finally saw a little of that this year in an attendance decline on the north side. However, if you are only going to draw 18k the last week of the year when you are a game out of your division lead, why even have a team? If you aren't going to show up then, when will you?Alpine Valley 6/26/98, Alpine Valley 10/8/00, Champaign 4/23/03, Chicago 6/18/03, Alpine Valley 6/21/03, Grand Rapids 10/3/04

Never my argument that Cubs fans are dumb for supporting a bad team. Their stadium is a tourist attraction so they are always going to draw well. I just point out 104 years and the argument usually ends there.
I completely agree with the attendace thing for the Sox. 18K last night and the games earlier this week was pathetic. The Sox have never had issues drawing crowds when they are in contention. The fact that they couldn't draw decent crowds with the division on the line this past week is really alarming to me as a Sox fan. I went to 7 games this year. I did my part.0 -

Went to 7 cubs games this year (only 2 at Wrigley) so I did my part. THEY however did not, as they went 0-7 in those games. :fp:Alpine Valley 6/26/98, Alpine Valley 10/8/00, Champaign 4/23/03, Chicago 6/18/03, Alpine Valley 6/21/03, Grand Rapids 10/3/04

nice to see DC finally able to fill their stadium. only took them 6 months to realize they have a good team.
atlanta is known as the worst sports city in the US. any time you finish behind them in attendance, you know you have a shitty fan base.

Also, Show Your Natitude is the worst thing since Red Sox Nation. Horrendous0 -
