  • I had to change plans a bit and my flight now doesn't get in until 12:30...so I won't be there until after that.
  • Vegas, '03 show at the MGM. I drive down there with a chair and a small cooler to line up at like 7 A.M. Remember, back then, the earlier that you arrived to a seated pit show, the better your tickets would be (but still among a certain seniority block grouping). I set up and am one of only 3 or 4 that are there to do that. A few fellow jammers come by and say that they were there earlier and shooed away by security. I stayed there and from that point on, security never did anything. These people then went off to their Vegas hotels and wherever and returned with a "list" hours later, and claimed that they have the right to get in front of me and all the others. It's like a stupid game of, "I touched the wall" (and then left), but I was there "waiting" first. The line grew in the afternoon, and even though I was there that early and with only 3-4 others, I suddenly became like 30th in line. At one point, this douche even hushes the huge line with his list in hand and tries to make a little speech about how we were all going to line up in the list's order. Tim Bierman was on hand and I remember telling him about the little scene that developed. He agreed that the touch-and-leavers had no right to try and pull what they were trying to pull. Bottom line, if the security tells you to move along and you leave, you shouldn't be able to claim that as if you were still there waiting. There obviously has to be some cut off time when the allowed waiting starts. And I suppose that would just be at the moment when some sort of security that is on-hand, gives the ok. No?

  • I also told myself that even if I'm last in the 10C line, I'll still probably be 1/2 to 3/4 back on the tiny floor...so no worries.

Not this line... need to go eat or take a bathroom break, ask someone nicely to save your spot but if you want to get up front you are going to have to wait in the line like the rest of us.
  • Well now you guys got me nervous! I knew I'd get all stressed out the sooner we got. Since I won't be able to get there until about 2, should I just try and trade my GA tix for seats?

Keep the GA you can get seats at any other show. How often they do GA shows in the states (not counting festivals of course.) SF '06 was the last time I think.

I wasn't saying they get away with that "game". I was saying they all try it.

    Keep your GA.
If you are 10C GA, you get in before normal GA anyway.
2/3 or less of 10C GA will line up early.
Small venue, small amount of 10C GA, you will be fine.

There is a pre-party a mile or two away that I intend on going to, so I figure I'll be there around 6:10, just before early entry. And then I'll get some merch, swing by the beer garden ... it's party time, not wait in a line up time! :D
It's a very small floor, so I see no need in fighting for it. I figure that even if you're at the back on the floor at this show you're better off than even halfway up on most GA floors.

  • i think all will work well...
some folks will go very early in the morningand got the rail..trust me..with early entrance, the last 10c member that has 10c tix will be like 5-6 row..
and if the arena was seated ,this could mean, like 2-3 row distance from stage...

we are talking real close..enjoy all the show and have fun, dont panic, enjoy the show..

Yeah, I think you're right... I mean, how many 10C members have GA tix? A couple hundred maybe?

exactly. You lineup people are kinda crazy imo. No way I would waste a whole day and nearly piss my pants during the show, in order to be 5-10 feet closer to the stage. But to each their own.

If it is a couple hundred people I feel that unless you want to be on the rail I see no reason to waste time in a new city waiting in line. I want to enjoy myself before the concert as I have never been to Missoula before. That being said, I was under the impression most of the floor would be TEN club tickets so if that's not the case, I will show up at 6:00 and just get in before the regular GA.

Well, that number was just a guess on my part! I could be wrong... I just can't see thousands of 10C members coming to this show just because it's kind of remote as shows go ... The floor only holds something like 1,000 people or 1,200 or something, and we know that plenty of public tix were sold since Tester wanted locals to buy ... What do the rest of you think? I'm just making all kinds of assumptions here.
