I was really hoping for at least 45 minutes for each band and counting on Neil for more! I hope this isn't as disappointing as their vague times & such...but if it is only 5-9, and there's 5 artists...well there you with short sets!
I just read that the headliners (neil, foos and Keys) start at 5, and that it'll probably last until 10. I think the schedule comes out sometime soon.
There will not be a schedule released to the public.

really? That's a shame. They at least say that the 5-9 is subject to change on their site. What's the central park curfew? 10?
  • Ok I'm still in the barely functioning mode after a 4 day bender at Deluna. I wasn't planning on going to this show but I've heard a few rumblings about a possible Eddie and Jay-Z appearance this weekend at the show. Regardless of if that happens it got me wanting to check this out now.

Can you only try and win tickets at this point? Or is there a better place to go and just buy them with a donation or something? Again...I'm sure this has been covered but I don't feel like sorting through all of these pages. Running off of straight fumes at this point.
    '08- Camden 1-2   '09- Chicago 2; Spectrum 1-4
    '10- MSG 1-2   '11- PJ20
'12- MIA; DeLuna '13- Wrigley; Pitt; Brooklyn 1-2; Philly 1-2; Baltimore; Seattle
    '14- Denver   '16- Philly 1-2; MSG 2
    '17- Pilgrimage Music Fest (Eddie)
    '18- Fenway

I've begun to manage my expectations at this point. Not expecting a lot but still figuring it will be a good time.

I quit following this thread once the show was announced and I knew I wasn't attending, so sorry if this has been mentioned, but it looks like AXS TV is airing the concert.

AXS is channel 306 on Directv, not sure if the channel is available elsewhere. Used to be HDNet.

Exactly. It's free and it'll be a nice Saturday in the park. Can't wait to head down from CT and spend the day. Looking for something to do afterwards.
  • So rumours of EV and J and secret shows; NY is on Letterman Thursday night; any others?

    ^^I'm with you^^^

It was a free ticket. Whatever I get is gravy as far as I'm concerned.

So this will be my third show like this. Live Aid, Live Earth and Global Citizen. Makes me feel gooooood :D:D
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

I'm not from NY, but throwing this out there to those of us who will be at show- Amsterdam Ale House 340 Amsterdam Ave. Any NYers have other suggestions?

  • "We've recently received a lot of requests for the set times for the artists donating their time at the Global Citizen Festival this Saturday. We hear you.

At 5 PM the show will begin with an amazing performance from Somali-Canadian hip hop star K'Naan, followed by rockers Band of Horses. After them, The Black Keys will take the stage at around 6 PM. At just before 7, Foo Fighters will use their music to call for action against extreme poverty, and after 8 PM Neil Young with Crazy Horse will do what they do best: raise awareness and help fight injustice with their timeless, classic-studded set.

Celebrity hosts and world leaders will be there throughout the day. The world's leading charities will celebrate new commitments to combating extreme poverty. Trust us, you don't want to miss a single moment. Gates are at 2 PM, surprises start at 5. We expect a line to start building over night, and If you arrive early you'll get closest to the stage. We'll see you in the park!"

Do they really expect a line to be forming the night before? I wonder how many tickets were actually given out. M

Found this on the Global Festival website FAQ:

Can I bring food and drink with me?
Alcoholic drinks are not allowed on site. For a full list of prohibited and permissible items, please refer to your ticket. There will also be refreshments available on site.

I didn't think alcohol was considered a refreshment.
Wish they would just say if there will be beer and wine or a bar. Whatever.
Time for nips in the make up bag just in case.

Im at West gate too. Not sure about our pregame. Alehouse sounds good but not sure we're heading to a bar.
There are lots of rules! No blankets no umbrellas no smoking (not that I smoke). Holy cow!

    And no Frisbees!

Smoking isn't allowed within any park in NYC. It's not gonna rain so umbrellas aren't going to be an issue. :P

Off to NYC in an hour!! TOMORROW! Since Montana is and always was out of the question for me, this concert/weekend is certainly the next best thing and most welcome distraction I can think of! :D
