a stone thrown

black
absorbs more heat
and light
than all the other colors

this explains why
each day this summer
the road between us
has expanded, getting longer
and more painful burning
my moving feet
as i am trying so hard
to get close to you again

but what it does not explain
is why the road seems to be getting
darker
I knew it all along, see?

    In my opinion, when people are feeling stressed the world seems darker because the mind temporarily closes some of the shutters.

    One of the benefits of feeling light-hearted and relaxed is that everything opens up again and the mind actually expands.

    well done Chip...I rather enjoyed this...i mean, what it says is sad, but still...well done
