I definitely always thought it was "furry thing". And the Corduroy line: totally. I must have known once that's NOT what he was singing, but I always sing it that way anyway. And I thought it was "pissed on my plate" until this moment. I'm off to see the real words. AND (god, apparently I don't know the words to ANY Pearl Jam songs), I also just learned it's not "I was bitten, must've been the devil, he was just plain mean".
My addition: I had a pretty radical misinterpretation of the lyrics to "Just Breathe" forever, and it really confused me. I thought in the chorus he was singing:
“Did I say that I need you?/Did I say that I want you?/If I did then I’m a fool, you see”
That REALLY changes what the song means, and it was totally confusing to me why everyone thought it was such a lovely love song. I remember a friend telling me he really wished Backspacer could have come out a few months earlier, as he would have used it as his wedding song. I was like "Ummmm....that song would suck as a wedding song". But then, when I realised what Eddie was actually singing ("If I didn't, I'm a fool you see.."), it was a serious light bulb moment.
I insist on singing with the misheard lyrics. It's more fun that way. If I was in Brian F's position, I'd have said, hey, play whatever the fuck you want, just sing with a whole bunch of wrong words, alright?
Oh yeah, Ed would have to get into the whole interpretive dancing thing as well. Acting out the words. It'd be fucking hilarious.
Lick the dirt off Olajuwons feet is my favorite. Was singing that for years and years even after I found out the real lyrics. A true basketball God, who deserves a line in a pj song.
"you are a furry thing," this one finnnnnnnnnally makes sense. "You are everything and everything is you." Um so why dont they change that shit on this very website?
Also in corduroy, I used to sing the line, "this behaviors not YOU ME" as opposed to "this behaviors not unique."
In fact in 10th grade way back in the 90's my friend was singing corduroy and sang the right lyrics, "this behaviors not unique," and I yelled at him so bad and told him my lyrics. Given the fact that I was the resident PJ enthusiast, he went along and accepted my wrong lyrics. HHAHAHAHA. As we kept walking down the halls, I sang the lyrics he said in my head and quietly thought to myself, "Lets just hope he forgets about this."

Apparently, I'm not the only one who thought that. Reports from EV's show last night in London are that he had to correct Matt on this! Ha ha ha ha. I feel very proud to make the same lyrical flubs as Matt Cameron. Maybe I was just hearing what Matt was singing all that time!
I always thought I was just hearing that myself, and then I looked up the lyrics. Those ARE part of the lyrics.
Doesn't make sense to me, but I think it's hilarious.

I think everyone misses "Everything has chains, absolutely nothings changed" until reading the lyrics. I know I missed it for a while until I realized Everything has changed, absolutley nothing's changed" didn't really make sense unless it was a Nirvana song.

Hahahah I thought it was changed too, but it actually made sense to me after a while. I thought the "everything has changed" was about how now he was famous/successful/rich/etc, and then that the "absolutely nothing's changed" was kind of like him saying "yeah, i'm famous/rich now, but I'm still the same person and nothing's changed inside".
Then I read the lyrics and felt stupid for putting so much thought into lyrics that were wrong anyway.

Mind blown. That's a lot of years of some gross imagery in RVM, erased.
