Is anyone worried about the security at the Philadelpia show? I live in Philly and going to the show. I don't know how their going to police that many people on a open road. I know they said their going to place two fences up, but is that going to help??? Just think it's going to be one big mess.

Thoughts??

We (by we I mean the police and planners - not me) here in Indianapolis did a decent job with the Super Bowl crowds in a very small downtown on the first try of an event of that magnitude (much larger than MIA will be).

I don't think this is the first rodeo in Philly. You'll be fine.

Live8 had an estimated 1mil people, no gates or fences, and each 4th of July concert (also no fencing) has about 500,000 in the exact same area we're talking about. Minus the minor incident this year with some 16 yo punk....there's usually no issues.

Hell, there's no reason for them to not post metal detectors at the gates. Pass your bag through the side, let them check it for whatever they want (outside food, alcohol, weapons), walk through the detector, and get your bag back. Personally, I'd prefer this to be the way they handle it. Couldn't hurt to be extra cautious, right?
