They played Lolla a couple of weeks ago, no reason to think that they won't be playing here.
Great news! Looking forward to seeing them on Sat.

Just got off the phone with VIP nation. for those interested he said that the regular VIP section is center stage behind the GA pit.
I found this odd. He said the location has changed multiple times so it may not be the final location. I asked why a higher price ticket would be worse seats and he said that the draw was to be in a area of 800 people vs. 50,000.
I guess until the final layout is released I probably should hold my complaints. He said that 5 days before the show details will be emailed out. I assume this will include set times etc.0 -

Was your package purchased through them? Mine was through cid entertainment, not the platinum though..Just reg VIP. I guess it would be the same location anyhow though. I'm not looking to be on the rail so as long as its not crazy far back I would rather be jammed with 800 as opposed to 50,000. Most people stink, not VIP though"It's so nice to hear that in other parts of the world, the stress- borne from envy- that one finds for themselves is the animosity they develop towards a person selling a box of records. Pearl jam will definitelybe scheduled 9-11. The question is whether they will go over cerfew or not... My guess is not..
Also I need to know when Cornell starts so I can figure out when to show up.
Why would you expect them not to play to curfew?0 -

My only hope would be that since Philly has been making a big deal about this festival, has gone past curfew during the 4th of July concerts at the same place with much larger crowds, and PJ did go past curfew the final night at the Spectrum. This is merely hopeful thinking and may not be the case.
I also think PJ didn't go past curfew the first night at PJ20 and cut some songs because they were genuinely concerned about fans' safety as it was raining that night and the venue was such a ridiculous trek to get to. MIA is at a very central location in the city where I believe many people will be using public transportation whether it be simply parking at a train station or such.
Again, I'm an eternal optimist, and as Eddie said at concert where they did break curfew "fuck the pessimists"0 -

no reason people who paid ga should be in front of vip if thats the kind of setup..if the vip was to the side or something like that then thats fine..but to have 2 pits and the one in front being ga who spent less then vip that doesnt make much sense0 -
But the first night of PJ20 they still gave an epic set. I just hope this isn't a shortened set like the European Festivals or Lalapalooza. My hope is they give another legendary Philly set that epically closes the festival.0

I purchases straight from the MIA website (which linked me to VIP nation). I assume it's the same as the CID package. The platinum package is so much more that I'm sure their area is very close to the stage.
And yes I assumed that this package since it cost more would mean decent views at worst. I figure somewhere off to the side, because I agree, I'd rather be in a pool of 800 vs the whole GA pit.
It's the exact reason why I bought it. I don't expect to be front rail either but let's hope the guy I talked to was wrong.0 -

But my main reasoning for this is because of Lolla 07. I was there and they stopped at almost exactly the end of their set. I would compare this show to Lolla 07 over Bonaroo 08 because it's in the middle of a major city (not in a field in Tennessee..)
Also, I would rather expect the worst and then have my expectations beaten than to expect a 3 hour show and only get 2 hours..2003: 7/14 NJ ... 2006: 6/1 NJ, 6/3 NJ ... 2007: 8/5 IL ... 2008: 6/24 NY, 6/25 NY, 8/7 EV NJ ... 2009: 10/27 PA, 10/28 PA, 10/30 PA, 10/31 PA

The article on the previous page seemed to think both nights will go past 11. You could also argue Lolla 07 was on a random weekend with most people working the next day and businesses being open. Not the case with this show....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0 -

I really hope that the article is right and they do play past 11! But I'm not gonna hold my breath.2003: 7/14 NJ ... 2006: 6/1 NJ, 6/3 NJ ... 2007: 8/5 IL ... 2008: 6/24 NY, 6/25 NY, 8/7 EV NJ ... 2009: 10/27 PA, 10/28 PA, 10/30 PA, 10/31 PA

If they play past 11 I think that means we will get a full PJ set. That's really all I am hoping for. A 3 hour set at a festival seems a bit unreasonable to ask.0
