Yeah don't get me started on the Winter gamesjesus greets me looks just like me ....0 -
What I don't like about the Olympics...
Too much dancing bullshit. In the Summer it's girls gymnastics... in the Winter, Figure Skating. Way too much of this crap. I can see a little blurb about it, but, admit it... those are there for the ladies and the men who like crap like 'American Idol' and 'Dancing With The Stars'. Any sport where you wear make-up... not a fucking sport. The only make-up allowed in sport is that black shit you put under your eyes. and glitter on the uniform... not a sport.
...
I like the Winter Olympics because of the skiing/snowboarding and hockey.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

To me the Olympics are a showcase for all participating countries to talk about how great their countries are...wave their flags...etc. You know, pretty much what most other countries Worldwide say about "ugly Americans". Ironic isn't it. :?0

Sorry to break the news but most of the "sports" in the Olympics merely exist for the olympics. There's not really a definitive watched or appreciated professional league for 95% of the areas in the olympics and the 5% that are, the competition is not nearly as good so the basketball, soccer, etc is far below anything decent to appreciate other than the excitement of rooting for/against a specific country or competitor. Also, the areas which they do have are completely arbitrary.. some date back to the greek history of the olympics and others are completely ridiculous.josevolution wrote:FiveB247x wrote:The Olympics are not for sports fans, but mostly for people who enjoy pagentry, personal stories and hoopla... not actual sports.

Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis0 -
This isnt a sport?

Technically, if you can do this while dangling a lit cigarette from your lip... it is not a sport. Like darts or beer pong.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!
