I am trying to decide between Sonesta on Market St or Comfort Inn on Columbus :?

Let me know which one you go with and what it cost.

Important!! How far are all these places from South Street?

    Where on South Street?

Comfort Inn is like $50 cheaper than Sonesta, but Sonesta is much closer. PArking for CI is $23 per night, which brings the total to $360 for Sat and Sun night. Choice Privileges card required   .

Take a look here. South and Fifth is the lower right hand portion of "Society Hill". CI is #39, Sonesta is #7.

If money isn't too too much of an issue, I would go with Sonesta, treat yourself a little, you deserve it, it's in the heart of all the good returants & bars, you'll probably save money staying there on the off day as opposed to having to cab or public transportation. I could give you tips on parking if they try to get carried away with you.

Booked Sonesta. I will do my best to walk to the venue and find free parking. I'm a New Yorker, so if anyone can do this, its me!

Thanks for your help everyone, especially marcos. Good luck OP!

I always take NJ transit whenever I go to NYC. The train will leave you two blocks from the hotel, you won't need your car. But like I said I know the parking in the area maybe I could find a free safe spot nearby.

Okay cool, I will look into NJ transit too.

The funny thing is that last year my mom worked for Starwood hotels so I got amazing rates. While staying 5 nights in Chicago for PJ20 I paid $450 and now I am paying $360 for 2 nights in PA  . Of course I had to pay for the ridiculously overpriced buses from Chi to MI though :x.

I have a text out to a bud when we stayed in Philly. I don't remember the name. It was great. We walked everywhere from there except the Spectrum shows. We needed to take a taxi for that.

Looks pretty good. About 60 more bucks than I paid for a hotel nearby.

  • if you dont mind the short ride across the bridge, there are plenty of CHEAP hotels in south jersey. the ride can be an easy 10 minutes for you, and you can save yourself a few bucks by not staying in Phila proper.

Not in my opinion, and that is why I chose another hotel. But marcos said it should be easy to get a cab from there and back.
