Was odd... seems if you pay for a seat, you want to use it :D

Goos evnue though, broad on the floor but not deep, kinda like the point. Was hella dark when I went in and bumped into at least 3 peeps before my eyes adjusted (sorry!). Doofus that I am :fp:

Yep, quite odd for sure! Although it was kind of the same for Stockholm, lots of seat people stayed seated until the end. Just think that's how it is here. No lack of energy though! My first ever concert having to sit. I stood as usual and just got strange looks so sat and rocked as best I could. When in Rome I guess. But, the seats in the Spektrum were so small my husband who is tall didn't fit his legs while seated and we finally had to leave the seats and go up and stand. Kept getting shooed out of where we were standing by security so ended up rocking outside the actual arena but ironically the sound was better. Kept getting thumbs up by people passing me back to their seats. Great show, great setlist! Feel bad for Ed, sick and bad news, but the band pulled together and put on a great show for sure. Tomorrow we get to play tourists in Oslo. :D

Edit: Now it makes sense. You aren't allowed to stand in that arena. I can kind of understand it as it was sooo steep and lots of alcohol being consumed that I saw. Bad design for sure. If it's going to be seating only, it should definitely allow more leg room.

So so strange. Can anyone from here elaborate and tell us if that is how is works here at every show. The entire venue was seated except for the GA standing. Never seen anything like it.

yes, same as Stockholm but a little worse....they had greatest hits to clap to in Stockholm.
no wonder it's been since 2000 for both cities. it's a shame as they are great places to visit!!!

Think u are kinda hard on the crowd. Oslo spektrum have a strict policy about not standing on the seats because its so steap, so the bouncers was running around telling everyone to stay seated.

By the end of the first set though, they gave up and ppl started to loosen up. By the time Alive went on, the part where I was seated was shaking.

The start was a little slow, but the setlist was great and the crowd was not even close to the worst I have seen.

All the big newsstations are giving the consert 6 btw:

I don't mean to offend anyone, a lot of what I say should be taken with a grain of salt... that said for most of you I'm a stranger on a computer on the other side of the world, don't give me that sort of power!

I heard first hand that standing wasn't allowed in the seated area. I would have been super pissed if I was at that show. I find it absolutely impossible to sit at a PJ show. Even during Just Breathe I am swaying to the beat ;)

listen up , we saw ed at palais in melbourne, fancclub tickets put us in the lounge section upstairs on the second night, now when he played porch and the final 2 songs in the encore the security new that everyone was gonna stand and were hardcore about us not standing,

now if security says dont stand i aint gonna stand and get booted out and miss the show,

so if security told these people not to stand , get off there backs because maybe next time you will be unfortunate enough to get tickets in that section of a show.

I know its sucks to sit , but it sucks bigger not to be at the show at all.

    so get over it

I agree, if security told me not to stand I wouldn't be standing. I would be pissed, but I'd be pissed and sitting :P I think maybe people on the floor didn't know that the people in the seats were not allowed to stand.

Was glad that I had standing for this gig cause it did kill the energy a bit that people were sitting.
However, you need to respect their rules but I found it quite odd, especially when we were served such a stellar setlist! :o

I must say, Oslo being my "home show" I was disappointed and rather embarassed at a few things. Not only was everything so expensive here that some ppl cdn't even do very much in and around the city, but the security (rules) and alco sales regulations made it difficult to have fun.

My father-in-law was in a seat next to my husband and little daughter (her 1st ever concert!!!) and he's a veteran of concerts in Oslo/Norway being in his 50s. I asked him abt the whole sitting down thing and he said they did not experience security telling ppl to sit but that ppl in seats were tapping others on the shoulder to tell 'em to sit :wtf: Also, from his experience this is how an Oslo crowd usually behaves...sitting, listening, some cheering/nodding/clapping/calling out....mainly calm. To me/us it's outrageous but the fact that there was that amount of noise from the audience and so much almost constant loud singing over the band was a rarity says my father-in-law. So don't hold it against them/us in Oslo...it's just how it is apparently :P

One HUGE reason cd be the tight alco-sales rules....no one was allowed to buy more than 1 drink at any time not even if they were buying for someone else, i.e. 1 drink per person per purchase!! Just another perfect example of Norway's tight (read: ridiculously insane and moronic) regulations over the sale & purchase of alcohol. I'm betting that's why Eddie did not (maybe was not allowed to) share his wine at the Oslo show.....unless it was because he didn't wanna share his flu with ppl too

Nonetheless, I don't think the band had any less fun in Oslo than any of the shows I was at. They didn't show any displeasure or say anything and Eddie is not a man who minces his words or holds back ;)
if I keep holding out,.... will the light shine through?
