Now that the European tour has finished...

I would like to ask you, dear tour followers, how much would you say it would cost to attend for example 5 shows, including hotels, restaurants etc... What would you budget for, approximatively. I saw only one gig, in Stockholm where I live, fantastic, but I want more, it's definitively not enough and I am seriously thinking to put aside some money to be able to follow a mini tour in two years, when they'll be back in Europe! :-D
Cheers & a great summer to everybody!

    ok.ill try the cheapest way..
.if we are talking about 5 shows, mean a period of 10-12 days..
means 350 euros for show tix, means at least 6 flights,,and if places are close and book early and cheap airlines,,you will need like 500 euros for that,
then 12 nights at hostel another 350 euros..,100 euros, transportation in the cities, and to and from airports

sowe have 1300 euros for see the shows and transportation and sleep..
from there, food, drinks, merch from the show is up to you..
and depence the countries..in south are more cheap than north europe..
    i think total,gonna need minimum,2000 euros...

if u want hotels and go to lunch and dinner in restaurant and not fast food ,you wanna buy souvenir from the countries you visit,go sightseeing..then this number will go away up..

I am refusing to do the math on how much I spent!
    Worth every cent though.

But, G2F2012 - if you start saving now, a mini tour is definitely doable in 2 years time.
Find a travel buddy or two to share costs with and your budget will go a long way.

Great, thanks Dimitris! :) I suppose we are going to know all the details about the tour about 6/7 months earlier, it means we have plenty of time to book transportation etc. & fast-food will be just perfect!! ;-)

    Can't wait!

:) thanks a lot! I understand your point, I just needed a rough estimate, I know that PJ are worth every cent, but I have to keep my feet on the ground & see what I can afford, I can't get into debt! ;-) Cheers!

i did 5 shows over 10 days amsterdam to berlin for a good bit cheaper than that. so €300-350 for tickets, including flights from ireland to amsterdam, and a flight from berlin to ireland, train from amsterdam to prague, and bus from prague to berlin i spent about €200-250 on transport. and then accommodation was between €20-30 a night so for 10 days between €200-300. and then about 20-30 euro a day on food etc so all together i did it for about a grand, i could have done it cheaper if i booked flights and trains earlier but i could also have spend alot more if i got posters and all that kinda jazz.

now i was obviously doing it on the cheap so didn't get much merch but i can get most of that when i get home anyway so i wasn't worried

I spent maybe around 1300 € for everything for 7 shows. But we booked all of it in advance, we lived in the cheapest hostels in up to 12bed rooms & we ate the cheapest stuff.
Also I'm from Germany, so I could reach half of the shows by train which was really unexpensive.

I did 9 shows (all the indoor shows, except Prague) and split it into three legs (1) Manchester, 2) Amsterdam and 3)Berlin/Stockholm/Oslo/Copenhagen).

I bought all the tickets when they went on sale in December and waited for the credit card bill to arrive in the new year. Pay that off, then book flights and hotels (pay that off the next month).

Manchester is almost a home-town show for, with only the cost of driving there to factor in (I drove there and back each night).

Amsterdam was a 2 night stay in a B&B, plus cheap flights. And the final main leg was 7 nights out of the country, with 5 flights and 4 different hotels. Flights were quite cheap (£30 or £40 for a one-way trip between cities) and the hotels weren't too expensive either. All the hotels were very close to the venues (Stockholm being literally next to the Globe), so no extra costs in taxis/trains/metros, etc.

I don't know what the total was, but it didn't feel that expensive to do the whole tour. I guess do some research into flight and hotel costs when the next tour dates are added, and budget for what you can afford.

Echt?!? That's genius, wolkenlos! I think it's a really good point, if you live in the middle of Europe, it's easier to reach the other countries by train. I suppose I have to plan several flights from/to Sweden. One good thing for me is that I still have many good contacts in Berlin, several towns in Italy, half of my family in Scotland (they are going to play in Scotland 2014, yeah), London and Paris, where I wouldn't need to pay a hotel/hostel... I hope some of those will be part of PJ tour!! :)
