What was the last year that there has been rookies this exciting? It's going to be a lot of fun watching these kids play for a long time.

WOWOOWOWOWOW. Matt Kemp is taking part in the home run derby? I mean, I know a hammy is at most risk running, but still.

What are your thoughts on the notion that participating in the HR derby messes up your swing going forward in the 2nd half? I think there's something to that.

Kevin Millah made a good point on the dan patrick show this morning. he said that most batting practices before games end up being home run derby's. He doesn't think it effects the swing.

I agree with that. I think in the cages the players work on their swings. I think when you put them on the field for the fans they want to put on a show. I've watched many batting practices and very rarely have I seen a player truly working on their swing. I mean it's not a bad thing. Put the ball in the stands...make some fans happy before the game.

Bobby Abreu syndrome...didn't it happen to Ortiz one year too?

I don't think it has any correllation. I just think they had bad second halfs.

I really don't think Matt Kemp should be taking part though. I would put the end to that real quick if I was Mattingly and Colletti.

Have to admit I like the National's uniforms today. Remind a little of an Olympic team but how can you go wrong with red, white, and blue with stars on the 4th of July?

Cliff Lee finally cashes in on his first win of 2012. I bet he has a big 2nd half.

If he gets 10 wins in the second half, he'll have 11 wins total
