    Departing from Toronto was always going to be more expensive than flying out of Buffalo but the best flight I could find (that works for me) departs from Toronto. Fortunately American Express will reimburse me the $700 by deducting the equivalent amount in Amex rewards points...but it's still an expensive trade-off (70,000 points as opposed to the 25,000 points this flight would have cost me if the destination wasn't so remote).
