Dawns Soft Light

Good morning Sunshine!
dawns soft light has never looked so good,
as it filters through the blinds
resting on her angelic features.
I lay still to gaze upon her natural beauty,
as she dreams and mumbles in secret code
while smiling in her sleep.
I dare not move a muscle,
for fear of waking this sleeping beauty
hoping she will dream like me,
of better days, and love filled nights...
if only for a few minutes more.

Last night in my dreams I could fly!
but only with beauty by my side,
we took flights of fancy across oceans
over the tops of tall trees,
staying far away from the city lights.
"Take me to the stars", she said,
and I obliged, knowing with her
I could possibly reach the Heavens....
if even only for a moment.
our weightless starlit dance across the sky,
ending too soon for my liking...
but my soul has been charged for another day
and
dawns soft light has never looked so good.
