Yeah, this has been floating around...
Not sure how I feel about that. The Bigger Bang Tour is pretty well documented between The Biggest Bang DVD box set and Shine A Light. I believe a couple performances from this same show are on the Biggest Bang set. If they're going to release a Toronto club gig, why not the one that everybody wants, El Mocambo '77?
Oh, by the way, it would appear the Stones are rehearsing for possible shows. They just released this video the other day, thanking the fans for 10 Million Facebook likes...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Hxm8xvNm48&feature=player_embedded
and they appear to be in a rehearsal space of some sort together, and you can see a setlist written on Charlie's plexiglass drum barrier thing, like he does for live shows.

Muddy Waters & The Rolling Stones: Live At Checkerboard Lounge, Chicago '81
On November 22nd, 1981, in the middle of their mammoth American tour, the Rolling Stones arrived in Chicago prior to playing 3 nights at the Rosemont Horizon. Long influenced by the Chicago blues, the band paid a visit to Muddy Waters club the Checkerboard Lounge to see the legendary bluesman perform. It didn t take long before Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Ian Stewart were joining in on stage and later Buddy Guy and Lefty Dizz also played their part. It was a unique occasion that was fortunately captured on camera. Now, restored from the original footage and with sound mixed and mastered by Bob Clearmountain, this amazing blues night is being made available in an official release for the first time.
1) Sweet Little Angel
2) Flip Flop And Fly
3) Muddy Waters Introduction
4) You Don t Have To Go
5) Country Boy
6) Baby Please Don't Go
7) Hoochie Coochie Man
8) Long Distance Call
9) Mannish Boy
10) Got My Mojo Working
11) Next Time You See Me
12) One Eyed Woman
13) Baby Please Don't Go (Instrumental)
14) Blow Wind Blow
15) Champagne & Reefer"See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -
That is mouth-watering!! I remember Champagne & Reefer from Shine A Light. That awesome close-up of Keith spitting out his cigarette

Another Rolling Stone Magazine article about The Stones and their 50th plans. Nothing concrete still, but Keith is saying that at least one concert (maybe more depending on how it goes) and possibly a studio album are in the cards.

Yeah, I can't wait for that. The Stones put out a press release and it's not going to just be the DVD, there will be different sets available.
1. DVD
2. DVD/CD
3. DVD/2 LP
4. Digital
No word yet on when/if there is a BluRay release, but I'm sure there will be."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

I would think so, but this is The Stones we're talking about. I would think they'll go/do whatever would be the biggest spectacle, whether or not it has any sentimental meaning. They've never been all that sentimental a group, always looking forward and rarely back. It's almost as if acknowledging their past means acknowledging that they're old. Which is why all the retrospective stuff they've been putting out has been a nice surprise. A London show does make sense, but they don't always do what makes sense. I can just as easily see them doing a concert from the International Space Station as London."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

Pre-ordered Checkerboard Lounge today.
Also found a good deal on "Rarities 1971-2003".
I've never owned it (I think it was just released through Starbucks or something) and in recent years when I've looked for a copy it's always been like $100 or something like that, since it's out of print. It has a few good tracks on it, but nothing I'd pay $100 for."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

Yeah, me too. There's still two more Archive releases coming, and who knows, maybe more, so there is more opportunity. At least we got Brussels Affair. And a couple of years ago the box set release of Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out, which is worth it if you don't have it. That crazy awesome version of Satisfaction is worth the price alone. Great demonstration of Taylor's rhythm skill (I find his rhythm playing more impressive than his VERY IMPRESSIVE lead ability), then of course later in the song he takes over and noodles like a mad man.
I'm hoping for a complete 1969 show, or a complete 1972 show. And while I would like a Brian Jones era show for posterity's sake, and because the only live document of that era is the sub-par Got Live If You Want It, I wouldn't be nearly as excited as a Taylor era show. Brian had a lot going on. Charisma, leadership, style, etc. But he wasn't the greatest guitar player."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

Downloading it now. I'm liking it so far. Never get sick of hearing the same songs all the time. How's the Muddy Waters Chicago show?0 -

I haven't heard it yet. I pre-ordered it, but it hasn't shipped yet. Even though the official release date was yesterday."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -
It appears all month long the BBC Radio 6 is going to be putting up Stones concerts, interviews and other stuff. Right now they have the Leeds '71 show up. I've been hoping for this as one of the Archive series. And while this sounds pretty good, it could use with a bit more cleaning up and mixing.

It would appear some of the tracks are out of order though. Or at least in a different order than the "Get Your Leeds Lungs Out" bootleg tracklisting."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

Suntory, a Japanese distillery, is releasing a series of whiskey to commemorate the 50th Anniversary. Only 150 bottles are being produced, and expect to sell for around $6,000. The whiskey is a blend of different whiskey and grains, each coming from a milestone year in the band's career. A '62 Yamazaki from the year of the band's inception, a '71 Yamazaki for the year the tongue and lips logo was created, a '72 Yamazaki malt marking the release of "Exile On Main St." and a Hakushu malt from '90 commemorating the band's first trip to Japan.
And all in this swanky bottle...
That's all well and good. But why pay $6k for a bottle of Japanese whiskey when in reality the Stones were Jack fans?"See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0
