Max Scherzer of Detroit 15 strikeouts today...all 15 were swinging third strikes...quick google search didn't show if any records kept on this type of stat...one would think this has to be a record...15 strikeouts when the batter goes down swinging is impressive.

I guess the major league record is 20 and the Tiger record is 16...you would have thought Leyland would have at least let him pitch the 8th and try for the Tiger record... :o

I'm sure Leyland had no clue what the club record is.

 just turned on MLB.tv and saw this. I don't know why I was thinking they had off :?.

Last week they split a 2 game series with the Reds. I'm guessing they split these four games too.

  • Been awhile since I've made my name known around these parts.

    Thoughts so far?

My Sox have been playing great as of late.

Think the O's can keep it up?

I don't think the O's can stay in the playoff hunt. I do think that tampa is clearly the best team in that division. And with morrow and romero pitching well, toronto could make a serious run. apparently they are prepping to make a run at another SP at the deadline.

I'm sticking with my texas/cincy WS

And I'm sticking with Texas/braves. I'll pretend that back to back to back didn't happen tonight lol

Aroldis Chapman was arrested for driving 93 mph with a suspended license. It's really not a good idea to see if your car can go faster than your fastball when you've already lost your license.

I doubt he'll be suspended. MLB doesn't even suspend guys who get DUIs so I'm sure he'll bo OK on that front. It's possible that the team will sit him for a few days until this blows over, but they hadn't made any comment on it so far.

In one way I am very happy about that. But I also realize that this gives an argument to not having a salary cap :?.
