    funny thing....

i was thinking today a great question would be...

when was the last time a position player got a W on the mound?

I know Wilson Valdez did it last year for the phightin's (not sure if he was the last though).

well if you include today it's Chris Davis, he did it for the O's against the Red Sox

Brooklyn. Red Barber called the game. Been reading all about early radio and tv in baseball recently.

Just read this so others may have seen it.

Harper just homered on back to back days. Who was the last teenager to do that?

    well done.

In reading a book on the history of the Yankees they talk a lot about the early days of both tv and radio. Funny that the Yankees were hesistant to broadcast games on the radio because they thought it would keep people from coming out in person until they realized they could describe the action, make it exciting and tell people how to get tickets.
