Too much complaining here already for something that we don't even know is or is not happening yet
Get a grip (**some**) of you
I'm not a great big foos fan either, but something like this could change that
    I'll keep an open mind/ear
    and ENJOY
    no worries
    right?
We're here to have fun...so lets have fun!
    Who's hangin?
    No worries about front row
No worries about the number of people that show up
No worries about whether or not you approve of any other bands on the bill

Its PEARL JAM for pete's sake
Chill out and have a good time

    Who's with me?
    peace,
    jo

I probably wouldnt go. That would be a lot of people. I dont think it would be all that fun.

Why wouldn't it be fun , as long as you take it for what it is i'm not gonna sweat if i don't get seats or tickets i'm just gonna play it as a Saturday in the Park day filled with music & friends it should be a great night ...

It wouldn't be fun because the Foo Fighters and Dave Grohls phony ass would end up on stage with PJ.....

Skip the whole show because there's a possibility that a person would join PJ onstage for a song... yea that makes sense.

PJ and the Foos can play in any major market around the world right now, when DMB played Central Park in 2003, a majority of their fanbase was limited to the US, nowhere near where they are on an international level now, and nowhere near where Pearl Jam has been on an international level for the past 20 years. I think you're underestimating how many people would go to this show, especially if PJ doesn't schedule many US dates this year. And I realize how big Garth Brooks is and that he was probably at the peak of his popularity when he played there, I was joking  If tickets are limited it's a moot point, but if there's no cap, it's not unbelievable for 2 of the biggest rock bands of the last 20 years to draw 400,000 people at a free show in New York City on a Saturday (pretty sure the DMB show was mid week).

PJ couldn't sell out alpine valley

yes i realize NYC is 3,000 times easier to get to ... but PJ20 was an EVENT in the world of PJ... and lawn seats could be bought with ease

i think that fans from outside the county

Totally depends on cost of the show. If its a free Central Park show with the Foos.. you could easily hit those insanely high numbers.

But if its a normally priced PJ show, then yeah its not going to be 100,000+

This forum greatly overemphasizes the current popularity of Pearl Jam to be quite honest. Demand for this wouldn't be near the level for other big Central Park shows.

    Yes we do!

And we love it even more when people complain when it doesn't actually happen!

(not a knock on the OP's credibility.....just an observation about the board's mentality!)

I hopes the Foos go on first and PJ gets a longer set.

I doubt it. I think FF are currently a bigger draw than PJ so they would probably headline.

Even if it was (PJ20) the event of the world (that year) of PJ (per say), it was located in the middle of nowhere's. Not every Pearl Jam fan in the world (big or small) traveled there for that festival event. And yes it's 3000x (hell it's even 10000x +times) easier to get to Central Park then it is to Alpine Valley. Thousands of people (what am I saying, millions of people) live just minutes away from Central Park. This draws much more attendance then anything else.
