Not sure if this has been posted, but here is a touching tribute of "Fight for Your Right" by Coldplay from their show last night. Well done cover and appropriate: a party song reworked to include a tinge of melancholy. Love ya' Adam!!! We'll miss you

I pretty much can't stand Coldplay, but this is a great cover. Very cool of them to do that.jjflash wrote:Not sure if this has been posted, but here is a touching tribute of "Fight for Your Right" by Coldplay from their show last night. VH1 Classic did a tribute earlier this evening by playing a lot of their videos. I enjoyed that a lot and was good for my sons to see - they like them too.0

Reminds me of my teen days listening to them now.
I fell in love with them in 1998 with the Hello Nasty album when I was 14.
At the time I thought they were a new artist, then my brother in law told me he was listening to their old stuff in his car, he introduced me to their early work. And been a fan since.
Sad times now.Adelaide 17/11/2009, Melbourne 20/11/2009, Sydney 22/11/2009, Melbourne (Big Day Out Festival) 24/01/20140 -

I really liked that cover, I thought it was fitting to play a mellow version of it. Whether you are a Coldplay fan or not they always seem sincere and you can tell that they meant well when they did this (despite some of the negative comments on the video)jjflash wrote:Not sure if this has been posted, but here is a touching tribute of "Fight for Your Right" by Coldplay from their show last night. It still hasn't really sunk in yet. I played the Beastie Boys pretty much all weekend - "I Don't Know" got a lot of repeats.“Do not postpone happiness”
(Jeff Tweedy, Sydney 2007)
“Put yer good money on the sunrise”

My colleague played the Anthology album today in the office on her iPod dock.
A few of us saddened by MCA's passing in the office this morning.
Awesome way to honour MCA by playing hours of Beastie Boys songs!

Free MCA tribute at Brooklyn Bowl tonight from Time Out New York
We just got word that Brooklyn Bowl is tossing a gratis bash in memory of dearly departed Beastie Boy Adam Yauch this evening. Stop by the Williamsburg space for a screening of the Boys’ energizing concert doc, Awesome; I Fuckin’ Shot That! (check out this clip for a taste) and a live set by Electric Method. Oh, and bartenders will be pouring a cocktail they’ve dubbed the Brass Monkey (rum, vodka and orange juice; $5). So be sure to hoist one of those to honor the Brooklyn-born hip-hop icon (8pm, doors 6pm; free).
