just a random...want-to-see-pj shoutout to suggest that they add *Mohegan Sun* in CT to their next tour.

PJ is a band that loves the fans and IMO this venue is THE most fan friendly I have ever been to.
-There is no traffic getting there as it is in a rural part of CT with a major highway running through it and the built a highway extension that goes directly to the casino..
-Getting out of there is a breeze for the same reasons
-It takes 5 minutes to get from the (FREE) parking garage...INTO the venue. Never experienced anything like it elsewhere
-Every seat is awesome
-There is a hotel on premises for out-of-towners and cheaper options nearby with free shuttle service
-I have always found customer service at this arena to be exceptional. I went to a concert last year on the wrong night, and the box office saw that my tickets for the prior night had not been used and gave me two for that night...its because they are a casino and want you to be happy and spend money but seriously...would never get anyone to bat an eye at a bigger typical venue
-Beer selections are decent, easily accessible, and the prices arent awful
-You can leave and re-enter the venue at will (convenient for putting those cherished posters in the car before the opening act)
-It might be considered inconvenient because it is "in the middle of nowhere" and the 1 hour drive to the airport might be considered a detractor but that 1 hour drive gets you to providence or hartford which are TINY super fast, super convenient airports to fly in/out of...no JFK/O'Hare etc...and it is fairly central to both the boston and NY markets

Lets go PJ...customer appreciation stop on the next go-round?

Talk about a tough ticket. Place only seat about 8000. Saw soundgarden there though and it was tremendous.

I hope they never play Mohegan. Tickets would be more expensive than they already are (they'd probably be $100 a piece before the fees). It's on the other side of the state and would be a longer drive for the people from New York and Boston, plus people from Jersey and Pennsylvania if they came here; it's much closer to Rhode Island. It's already a long drive being in-state.

The Civic Center and the Meadows are really neutral for everyone.

    2+ 10c only shows.

Also they played 3 nights in SF at the Bill Graham Auditorium (7,000 Capacity) in 2006 (and they were awesome!)

You can still go see them in NYC if thats more convenient but im not worried about ticket prices, mohegan seems to be pretty consistent with other venues when I have been to shows, sometimes cheaper when you add in metronorth fare or 15 dollar parking to the typical venues.

Ahh... Mohegan Sun. Where to start?

    Pros:
    1. As close as I could ever get to having PJ play in my back yard. +
    2. Free - easy parking; quick in and out. +
    3. There is not a bad seat in the house
    4. I know people...and I could easily get free front row tix +

    Cons:
    1. I know people...and I could easily get free front row tix -
This is good for me...but for the rest of the world... it sux. You would be DISGUSTED to know how many seats at Mohegan sun are just GIVEN away. First, you have tribal members who each have the opportunity for 2 free tix. Then you have the high rollers who are given the opportunity for 2 free tix - usually w/in the first 10 rows or so. Then there are just random people who know the people that work there who also have a shot at free tix. So... this goes for a big, big CON in the FAN CLUB SEATING department. It wont happen. There will be no fan club seats. The venue wont have it. If they did go for it, and if PJ has the power to say, screw your high rollers, and screw your tribal members, our fans have top priority, then cool...I love it...but I highly doubt that would/could happen.

    2. Good luck smoking a joint. Bring a one-hitter and hope for the best. -

    3. You think ticket prices are high now? HA! Expect your tickets to be closer to $150 each than $100.00. -

    4. Not really a tail-gatable venue. Sure, to an extent, there may be cars here and there, but at some point, if your out there too long, you'll be asked to pack it up and go inside.

I do not believe you can leave the venue. Been multiple times. Same as any other venue...no re-entry. Once you leave the arena to go back to the casino, your out and can't come back in.

In closing... its cool with me, cuz I'd loooove to see PJ from the front row, for free no less :D Its a natural high that will make you forget you cant smoke  . (Im pretty broke right now too, so this would work out well for me!). But in the end... I'd rather they never go to Mohegan Sun and just keep coming back to the XL Center in Hartford.

    I aint talkin bout love.
My love is rotten to the core.

I have left the venue and re-entered..they just scanned my ticket out and then scanned it back in.

Your point about all the giveaway tickets is valid though...there are always empty seats in the front few rows of the lower level because of this and if PJ didnt have the power to say "no comp'ed tickets" then that would detract from the show.

im not sure where this stuff about mohegan tickets being more expensive comes from..
Neil Diamond TD Banknorth Garden: $134/$99/$68
    Neil Diamond Mohegan Sun: $111/$90
(Keep in mind venue size...there are no 68 dollar locations at mohegan IMO)

LMFAO at the Worcester Centrum: $47/$67/$82
    LMFAO at Mohegan Sun: $60/$80

Jimmy Buffet at Great Woods: $90/$157 (covered reserved seats)
Jimmy Buffet at Mohegan Sun: $152/$203
    ^
    50 dollar difference there...

maybe the first two samples are not representative of typical pricing

    $50 difference is typical.
I tried to go back out to my car when I went to see Tool in January. They said no and wouldnt let me bring in a poster tube either :x Guess it depends on the day...?

Its honestly kind of a weird subject for me. Its a great venue to see a show, no doubt. Recently voted 5th best venue to see a show in the WORLD by Billboard Magazine. Ive seen great shows there...STP, Tool, Tiesto.... Always sounds good and never a bad view... but the fan club ticket thing on top of the potential to spend an additional $50 on a ticket I think is what seals the deal for me. I'd rather drive another 20 mins to Hartford to save $50 and be able to burn one down w/out fear of being thrown out. Ticket prices are already high enough, and PJ being a so called advocate for that...well...I'd hope they'd factor that in too.

I have to disagree. The bigger cost is having to eat and drink at those expensive bars plus I don't think the sound is that great inside the arena. If Eddie wants to do the Wolf den ala Aaron Lewis or PJ provides GA on the floor for the arena then I would suck it up. PJ should play the Springfield Civic Center (now MAss Mutual) for us people in CT. My first show ever was there and they opened with RVM and ended with RITFW. The also tagged Hey Hey My My, WMA and played My Generation. Great arena and Springfield has free parking in the streets and cheap Irish bars.
