"By The Way" is a great album from start to finish...., The Zephyr Song is a top favorite for sure...

There's alot of people that hate on it, but I think it's a masterpiece.

    TEAR!!!!! just beautiful
    Minor Thing

Really not a weak track on there and some different stuff for the Chilis.

Frusciante is a genius with the vocal harmonies on this one. Lotta cool guitar sounds and keys.

I agree, it is a masterpiece... Even the cover art of that album is fantastic.... Looking fwd to the show, hope I hear some Zephyr....

    I miss John. :(

Stadium Arcadium is probably my favorite release of theirs, and likely one of my all-time favorite albums period. I don't care that it's late in their career. Some people think that it's not cool to like the newer stuff. I'm not one of them. I've listened to them since the days of Uplist Mofo, but never really connected with them as I did when John became such a force after rejoining the band. Sure, often times AK's lyrics are out of left field and really just an excuse to rhyme, but they're great songs.

6 years later and I can't tire of SA and BTW for that matter, too.

BSSM is such a classic bridge for them as it blended a bit of the early funk with the direction they wanted to head, but the production was weak. Likewise, as anthematic as Californicatoin is, I cannot stand the production. It's too hot and pops quite often.

Oh, and One Hot Minute should never have happened.

I saw them Saturday night in the Air Canada Centre. First show. Outstanding. They dont go through the motions at all. I didnt stop moving the entire show, and that is rare, even at PJ.

I like what I have heard from the new album. My favorite is Californication. The album is awesome beginning to end (no skippable songs), and brings me back to an amazing period of time.

Very impressive though, and like PJ, I didnt realize what RHCP's music meant to me until I saw them live. Cant wait to see the in Cleveland.

Lover the Peppers but dont know much of their earlier stuff. Have only recently become a fan and bought their new album which I like very much. I hear die-hards dont like it much compared to their earleer stuff, but to a new fan like me it's great. Eventually I may get around to getting some of their eariler albums. If they come out hear later on in the year or early next year I'd consider going to see them.
You can find their "What Hits!?" compilation for dirt cheap on amazon. It's a great way to get exposed to their early work

I am seeing them Monday in Boston and recently have been listening to their earlier stuff. Would love if they played songs like American Ghost Dance, The Brothers Cup, Catholic School Girls Rule, and Freaky Styley in concert. Sort of like Pearl Jam plays their early rarities only in this case, these are on their early albums. Some great stuff on those first 3 albums.

I caught them last night, and thought they were freaking amazing. Much better than I thought they were going to be, the jams were so tight and Josh was fantastic. To be honest I did not miss John Frusciante one bit, and he's one of my favourite guitarists.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

I'm so happy to see this! I'm catching them on the 11th and I was a little worried after watching a show from 2011 where I felt there was no energy. I'm excited to see them, and this is really reassuring to me!

I went into that show with tempered expectations and ended up being pleasantly surprised. I didn't think they'd be as good live as they were.

They were AMAZING. Totally brought it, I don't know if they were just 'On' that night, but I haven't seen a band that 'on' in a long time.

Yeah, I just downloaded the second night as I went to that one (pre-ordered it when i got home that night)...sounds great. not as good as PJ boots, but pretty great. There is barely any mix of the crowd in it. The place was crazy at certain parts of the show and you can barely hear it on the FLAC's. Still worth it though.

I'll have to pick up the boot in the near future. This was the first Chili Peppers show I successfully saw.
