Some of the stats are good, some are overboard. I like WAR but think it's directional and is obviously a summary of a lot of other stats. OPS and OPS+ are great. Defensive stats still aren't great. I don't have to get into pitchers stats too much, think WHIP, ERA and ERA+ are perfect.

Intangibles. Neither of those guys would have been embraced like Jeter and certainly neither of those two are Captain's material.

Dude, if Arod came up with the Yankees and hit .358 with 36 home runs in his first season there would be daily comparsions to Babe Ruth. Hindsight is 20/20.

I truly don't believe that but to each his own. As you know Yankee fans have that ability to pick out the quality people and teammates and appreciate them for that. I mean Nick Swisher is a bigger rock star to Yankee fans than ARod could ever dream to be.

People like Roger Clemens? He's a fucking dirtball and got one of the biggest ovations I can remember. All you gotta do is perform and win.

Edit: And don't get me wrong, Jeter is by far my favorite player ever. But if he started on the Mariners and Arod started on the Yankees, before PEDs, Arod would have had Mickey Mantle hype.

And I remember ARod getting some big ovations. I also remember him being booed pretty hard quite a bit. I remember Jeter geting booed once at the Stadium when he opened the season in that horrible slump, I think it was 06 maybe 07, it made the papers and pretty much that shit stopped quickly. We're kind of debating nothing here. All I will say is I will take what I see on the ball field over what I see with the numbers anyday. I have yet to still see this play in the stats.

Great play. And anyway you want to look at it, Jeter is currently better than Arod, which is pretty crazy.

Haha I always thought he was out, and that Giambi's stupidity greatly outweighs Jeter's play.

Jeff Francoeur had a very strange ground rule double tonight. It hit the top of the wall, bounced high in the air, and the outfielder caught it over the fence. They originally called him out!?!? Try to catch the video. That's a first for me.

I was at that game, and I wanted to kill Giambi for not sliding. That play changed the whole momentum of that series. What a dumbass! :fp: And an absolute spectacular play by Jeter.
