It's an auction. You can call it a trade all you want but the principle is the same: you're entertaining offers and at the end of the day you'll go with the highest offer. Whether its cash or goods, it's an auction.

Should be limited to 1 copy though. This is how they end up on ebay for ridiculous amounts of money. If I was you I would have bought all 3 also, I'm just saying there should be a 1 copy limit. Maybe I'm just bummed about coming up short handed at the places I went to today. 1st store told me they only had 2 copies.

Stores can limit things to 1 per person, but people will just go to their car put the items back, and then go purchase another copy.

For those HATERS out there....I did NOT receive any money or even pick the highest "bidder"

I actually just traded for another 7" vinyl EVEN trade!!!!!!!!!!! I made out like a BANDIT

I purchased ALL of them fair and square....and all at once and didnt do anything shady like buy one and go to my car and go back in.......such NONSENSE! I am thinking people are being salty b/c they didnt get up early enough...well guess what........I DID! I put in my 5 hrs and it NEVER has nor will cross my mind to sell them on the bay.......I simply thought I would hook someone up who is a true PJ fan and do an even trade (like everyone else does on here). I was GLAD to get the opportunity to get more than one and do a simple trade that would please both parties!!!!!! So I would suggest next RSD you get your ASSES up early and wait in line...and hit multiple stores like I did......sorry I just ran into some luck! The winner is going to appreciate it more than the others I believe...as will I enjoy my new item I am going to receive......so yes I did a simple trade....and for something that I wanted....not something that was way over the top or worth more than what others had offered!!!!! I cant believe some of the comments some people left over a simple trade!!!...no wait over my "auction"

Just gotta say, had I been in the OP's shoes, with 3 Vedder 7"s in front of me today at the record store and no limit, you can bet I'd be buying all 3 with the intent to hook up other great people on the boards. And at what price would I say? Well I don't find anything wrong with someone obtaining a "limited" vinyl and seeking a different "limited" item. It's a trade, it happens here everyday. I hate the bad vibes that come from all this limited stuff! I hope everyone on here finds what they're looking for, much love to everyone.

yeah, I would have bought all 3 too. But I would have hooked up some peeps on the board here for face plus shipping. but in canada we didn't have that option, so I bought one on ebay. big deal.

what you did is classified as flipping. I don't care. but by the rules of this board, you flipped it, plain and simple. you bought multiples so you could get something you wanted in return. you ruined the chance for others in line to pay face value who might not be on this board and are able to get one from another member.

HEY. NOT COOL. I put in a good 5 hours all in all too and did not get to lay my eyes on a single EV (or Star Anna or Po). Difference between you and I is LUCK. What you choose to do with your extra copies is entirely up to you and I'm not going to comment on that, but please don't suggest that people who didn't get this in the stores were not as committed as you were in the process. For that, I say PLLLLBBBBBTTTT to you :evil: :evil:

A flipper to me is someone who buys a backpack from ten club and sells it for hundreds of dollars OR someone who gets the lucky opportunity of getting a white backspacer lp and a week later selling it for a fortune....all I did was get lucky and get more than 1 lp and hooking one ten club member up and the other doing an even trade...

everything anyone puts on here for sale/trade is now a flipper...correct!!!!!!!??????? ok....now....done....

no, that's not correct. people who buy multiples for personal gain is a flipper. and it's in especially poor taste to do it the day the damn thing went on sale.

also, it's how you talked to others who didn't get one. it's not all that cool to rub in everyone's noses that you "got up that early" and everyone else is "salty becuase they didn't get their asses out of bed early enough". gimme a break man. did you learn forum etiquette from Sawyer?

I'm not looking to win anything,I'm just telling you what people here don't appreciate. And I had to buy one off ebay not because of people who bought multiples, it was because I'm in Canada and it was a US only release.

I'll admit I've flipped. I didn't intend to when I bought it, but yeah, I bought something and then later decided I no longer wanted it and put it on eBay and got market value. I'm not knocking your intentions, it just might be best not to do it here and/or so quickly, that's all.

Meanwhile there was likely someone in line at that record store who is just as much of a fan as the OP, who didnt get the opportunity to buy this record because the OP took it upon himself to be the "delegater of fandom" by grabbing every copy available and then boasting about his devotion on here. I'll give you credit that you aren't one of the people selling it for $50 on ebay and that you (hopefully) made a fair trade with someone (which based on what Dimi said, you likely did), but this ridiculousness of 10 clubbers buying up as many of something as they can so they can decide for themselves who gets to be "devoted fans" and who doesn't is getting old. I hate that the rule around here is hoard as much as you can, even if you dont need/want it for yourself.

I just think you should be happy you got lucky rather than expect credit for it.

and it is flipping, you can say you just were trying to help people out all you like, but you were also insinuating that it was because of something you did over them that you have extras - it isn't and if you really wanted to just help people out it would be cost plus shipping not trying to get something out of it
