iTunes import problems with digital downloads
Anyone having problems importing digital downloads into iTunes on Windows 7?
Purchased and download the .zip for Toronto 09122011. Decompressed and tried to import the folder into iTunes. Done this many times with no problems. Not this time.
Warning about loss of encryption. No options other than to skip the folder (obviously not!) or acknowledge the loss of encryption. Clicked through it without encryption and it seemed to work.
No error messages other than a split second flash of a red status bar that disappeared so fast that I cannot even read it to address the problem. I did get a folder and the songs in my music library. iTunes is my default and it will play the individual songs in the folder, but it WILL NOT import the folder (thus it can never get to my iPhone). I navigate to the folder multiple times and using multiple methods. iTunes either does nothing when I try to finish the import or gets in this weird error about not being able to find the folder. Upon further inspection, the decompressed subfolder does not have the same label as the parent folder. I've tried to rename it, and it only makes it worse.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

i've never had that sort of problem, but i have in the past had problems with you go to import a folder and i just doesn't want to import, and i think it had something to do with the folder the said album was in, being read only or something like that. but this sounds like a different problem. good luck hope you get it sortedGlasgow cathouse-1992-2-23, San diego sports arena-1995-11-06 & 07, Glasgow secc-2000-06-03, Tampa st petes times forum-2003-04-13, London O2 arena-2009-08-18, Belfast odyssey arena-2010-06-23.Leeds 2014 - 07-080

are you doing this via file > add to library or just dragging the music from the folder into iTunes?
also if the file is still zipped, try to unziip the file.0 -
Thanks all. I got it working right after I posted. Always happens that way! Turned out....wait for it...the labels on the individual song files were reversed so that artist was "Toronto 0912011" and the album was "Pearl Jam". So I had like six versions of it iTunes, but not one of them with the rest of my Pearl Jam music. I suppose I should have intuitively known to look elsewhere in iTunes. So I re-labeled everything, deleted the extras, and I'm good to go.
Should have seen it coming, though, because there is gross inconsistency in the way all the digital shows are labeled, even within multiple disks on the same shows. This isn't the first time I've had to manually re-label information so that it would all sort and display correctly.
Thanks again!0 -

Not cool and definitely too much work. Glad to hear that you got it worked out, though!
