I know. It will be crazy. I think they met once before in the tournament(maybe in the '80's)but I never thought they would meet in the Final Four in my lifetime. All the pressure will be on the Cats. If the Cards can pull off this upset we will have bragging rights for life! GO CARDS!!!!!!!

1983 "Dream Game" (dumb name)...UL won 80-68 in OT in the Elite Eight.& you're right, ALL pressure on UK! We're just enjoying the ride.

If we win?...AWESOME! If we lose? I'll be disappointed but, the Almighty UK is supposed to win it all, right? (UK +9 is the line) Can't wait to listen to all the shit-talk this week...from BOTH sides!

Calipari is surely a dickhead. His UMass and Memphis Final Four appearances were both vacated due to NCAA violations.
Pitino is a dickhead in that he cheated on his wife. That has nothing to do with basketball though.
How is Bill Self a dickhead?

    For any Ohio State fans......

Mark Titus's book 'Don't Put Me In, Coach' is finally here. I got mine at Barnes & Noble two days ago and it cracked me up. It has some really great stories about coach Matta and you can see why these players love to come play for him. Titus doesn't really write on Club Trillion anymore but for those who did not follow his blog during his playing days you might want to check out clubtril and see why he became a "big deal" according to Mark Titus anyway :)

Amazing win last night! After last season's choke with by far the best team in the country I am stunned this team being so young has done what they now have done after everything I heard has been going on. Ever since Thad threw the team out of practice the day before losing to Wisconsin this team has played great basketball.

not an OSU fan but just got done reading this book. pretty hilarious stuff although I think Titus comes off as a douche at times. Always like Matta going back to his Xavier days and he comes off pretty well in the book. and being from the Philly area it's hilarious to hear about the Villian Evan Turner. Definitely recommend this book if you like college hoops and like a good laugh.

What violations did Bill Self commit wrt any of those players? If memory serves, KU has not been on probation under Self's regime. Who cares if he wears a toupee?
You may think Thad Matta is squeaky clean now, but OSU fans used to think that about Jim Tressel and how did that turn out?

OSU fans didn't think Tressell was squeaky clean. Tressell was corrupt before he even came to OSU dude. He left his previous school with sanctions! Most OSU fans just wouldn't admit it but he was always corrupt....Matta isn't, you're just gonna have to deal with that one.

I love Ohio State basketball with all my heart but I am not one of the people with scarlet and gray goggles on. When the basketball program under Jim O'Brien cheated I was the first to say they cheated and should simply be sanctioned and stripped of all that teams accomplishments. There is no fun in winning if you have to cheat! The facts are the facts though...........Thad Matta has built great programs at Butler, Xavier and Ohio State and has never had even one story that exists he even "might" have done something wrong. There just isn't even one accusation dude, ever in his career. If you check out the post I made a few days ago and read Mark Titus's book you will see why these kids love Thad Matta and want to play for him. Ohio has really great players and Thad has sealed the border...he gets whoever he wants in the state of Ohio and Ohio has always had amazing basketball players. It's not a condescendence All-Ohio Red wins AAU National Championships all the time in different age groups. Then because he really allows players to showcase themselves and his unbelievable sense of humor and relaxed nature he has went out of state and grabbed a few players and that is all it takes to build great teams year in and year out. You are just gonna half to hope he doesn't become a great in game coach because that is all that will stop him from winning 5 national championships over the next 20 years. Seriously.

This reminds me of a friend who said Ohio State bball must be paying players. This was last season when Ohio State was still undeafeted going into February. Then he saw where Ohio State's players were from....

    Jared Sullinger....Ohio
    David Lighty.......Ohio
    Jon Diebler........Ohio
    Dallas Lauderdale....Ohio
    Aaron Craft......Ohio
    William Buford.....Ohio

That's five starters and our sixth man. Enough said mate.

Even other teams star players like Michigan's Trey Burke wanted to play for Matta but Thad didn't offer him.

    Border completely sealed. ;)

PS - Marc Loving is going to be a star, can't wait for him to arrive.

OSU gave it away in the second half - they played matador defense down the stretch and the offense sucked balls. If I sound like a sore loser....It's because I am

remind me again why I root for this "almost" University :?

Thad Matta out-coached again. I love Thad, he made Ohio State a national power in basketball.............but he just can't coach against the big boys.

I'm stunned Ohio State made it to the final four........that was a national championship in itself!

Sully is really over-rated. I hate to say it but he just isn't what we all thought he was. His feet and back will limit his career in the NBA too.

Thad's in-game coaching will get better with time, but you're right. We came out in the 2nd half, Kansas made the necessary adjustments, and we had no answer. I think when KU decides to put the clamps on, they have the best D in the country. They did it to Missouri in the 2nd half, Carowhina, and now the Buckeyes. If they can get some unexpected scoring tomorrow night, they can beat UK.
I don't think Sully is over-rated, but his size will always hinder him. He's not a true center, he's only 6'9 and without a consistent outside shot, he won't be much in the NBA. Hopefully he's smart and decides to come back and work on it at Ohio State next year.
Overall, it was a good season for this team. I think they overachieved making it to the Final Four (as opposed to last year where I feel like we were the best team in the country and blew it in a game we should have won).
